I think death guard have the tools to be a really competitive army so I came up with the following list for review. Key was no Morty because some of the higher level comp lists can toast him in a turn so I wanted to diffuse the points more throughout instead. Tactics are a true hammer and anvil. Poxwalkers, typhus, herald, defiler, and the crawlers form the anvil while the DP, and both sets of drones form the fast moving hammer. Plague marines in a rhino with the plaguecaster act as free safety. Should be able to handle screens, alpha strikes, and gunlines which make up the meta. Let me know what you think I can improve upon.

Thanks for the reply. Likely going to have the DP be the warlord with either the achcontamintor trait for when I want to play defensively or the revolting resilient trait when I need a close beatstick.

For powers I was thinking the following:

Plaguecaster: Blades and Curse of the leper
Typhus: Putrescent vitality and Miasma
DP: Miasma
Herald: Flesh Abundance

Herald with fleshy abundance acts like a demonic techmarine for the demon engines. (or just smites for nearby enemies or flyers)

what is ur experience with pbc? im planning to try them. Do you think you can handle lists like AM or eldars?
About the list, im not a fan of defiler i could go for a 3rd pbc or bloated drone. Why you decided to play plague drones?

It's best to think of a PBC as a better and more survivable leman russ. I use them mainly because they are super cheap and they are good anti-fatty/tank.

Defiler is a meh choice and I've thought about dropping him . He's there to provide some additional fire support but also as a helpful line anchor and CC deterrent. If you have a thought on what to replace him with I'm open.

Plauge drones are amazing at their current price. 4 T5 wounds with a 5++/5+++ on a fast moving model is great and they have huge bases for tying units up.

I would try to squeeze a nurgle Chaos Lord in there I run him and the herald next to my crawlers makes them much better

1st leman russ can fire twice
2nd it wont suffer any penalty to move and shoot
3rd witht the order he can re roll to hit and or to wound
There is a huge difference betweem pcb and leman russ, i found pbc used better like a ram than stay in the backfield trying to fire at something.If you play against armies like eldar imposing you -1 -2 to hit it is virtually useless, same problems for defiler.i surely prefer a full laser predator at least hit on 3+ and hit very hard, main drawback is you lost some extra CaC. The only way to have a decent antytank with Dg is ally with chaos (obliterators).

Its better to have a single big unit of poxes, in order to better benefit from the vitality and the dead walk again, and typhus.
You could add the biologus in the rhino, to trigger the sick granade combo. And you should definetely try the blight lords, they are amazing, super resilient and great to escort typhus!
