I’m starting a craftworld army and notice that there are very few items available on the gw website. Is gw intending to restock these items? Or will they release different sculpts?

GW is currently enjoying a massive boost in sales across all the 40K ranges (pretty much) with a big focus on those that have recently had a new codex (like eldar). Furthermore one of their core factories in the UK is currently underpowered due to works on the electric network (outside of their control).

So they've got increased demand and some reduced output. This has resulted in products slipping out of order on the GW website. Note that 3rd party stores and local stores might well have copies of the models.

Any model listed as "out of stock" is just that. Temporarily out of stock and expected to be restocked. Meanwhile anything that is being removed is generally clearly labelled a such, going through the "last chance to get page" before being withdrawn from sale.

At present no army is expecting anything from GW for certain in terms of new models. There's lots of rumour and hope and a selection of obvious choices for new sculpts; but right now no rumours on releases. Furthermore with GW's current focus on getting codex out we might not see new sculpts for a while yet.

So right now is a very safe time to buy. The most likely things to get new sculpts are anything currently cast in finecast (as GW wants to remove that from their inventory eventually).

Most recent new sculpts have,in additon to what Overread said, been new model lines (death guard/primaris) or the revival of sppecialist games.

I'd be happy to unsee 1999 print on my Swooping Hawk bases, but let's be honest, there are 15+ Primarch models more to make which means my money would go to alternative sources instead. Just because. I doubt these units would sell better than more Primarches and stuff like that.

Playing devil's advocate, they did update the windrider models and added some new autarchs. I think there is a chance we may see updates to incredibly old models (phoenix lords, banshees, spears) in the foreseeable future, however not especially soon. Above posters are very well informed and speak the truth.

For the hell of it, predicting a redone phoenix lord September-November 2018 at the earliest.

I'd think Warp Spiders and Shining Spears are on the list to head off some of the better third party alternatives. I'd say we should see something by around 2025.

I still suspect that GW has some plan for a "new" Eldar wave...maybe based on Ynnari - maybe not. I feel they're going to wait and "revise" the Eldar as a whole at some point. I'm fortunate in that I buy and run old metals, because as a new player...seeing expensive $35-for-five Dire Avengers and resin/finecast Aspect Warriors would stop be dead in my tracks from considering starting a new Eldar army.

Ahh, another player that runs metal! Aside from abysmal painting experience running metal is pretty much the only way to enjoy Eldar thanks to finecrap being everywhere in this line. We probably wont get new models other than the new one teased on the community for a few more years since we need MOAR MUREENZ.

Exactly this. Unless GW makes eldar and SM allies don't expect new xenos kits because it's simply not gonna happen.
