This army (at 14 models) formed an 885 point detachment for a doubles tournament. I had been pining over that Forgeworld Avatar for almost 10 years at this point, and now seemed like the time to get the jump on him. Glorious model to paint, looks gorgeous on the table. His rules are awful, but I'll never regret putting him down.

Irillyth ended up being an absolute pain in the ass to paint, since he's got some really ridiculous detail, dangly bits getting in the way of everything, and my airbrush ended up crapping out (fun story involving a garbage disposal). He ended up making me bring my A-game for all the blending, and I'm especially proud of that white. Kicks a surprising amount of ass on the table.

The Farseer was the first model of the army to see painting, and was an absolute joy to work on.

The Spectres themselves suffered from some really terrible molding quality, and required a huge amount of work to make presentable. As lovely as the models themselves are, I have to seriously recommend against buying any in their current state, as the molds have clearly degraded to a really awful state (ended up getting a nice big chunk of the mold on one of my Spectres...). I'm mostly satisfied with how they came out, but not at all happy with the amount of work it took to get there.

Yep, gorgeous work. What craftworld are you going for - or is it your own?

Sadly I concur with your Avatar sentiment...great model(s), crap rules.

Custom craftworld colours. The scheme has some similarities to Il-Kaithe and Biel-Tan, but that's mostly incidental. I just really wanted to do green.
