I currently have no fast attack options in my army, and wanted some help figuring out which one I should use.
I play mostly annihilation, against space marines (1 of my mates plays blood angles, and 3 play default space marines)

I have already ruled out spiders, as I believe they don't do a good enough job against sm but if you think different feel free to tell me why

But mostly between Vypers, windriders, swooping hawks, and shining spears

I dont think I'll do that. its a lot of money to drop on a 3 man squad and id have wasted parts left over

Swooping Hawkes are also good, and are unlikely to be hit with a nerf bat in March.

Price of windrider box mostly. Obviously not buying shining spears just for lances. Either convert lances from something, see if friends have or buy some lance weapons(AOS is full of those) from bits store. Probably not that much more expensive than official shining spears that are already more expensive than windriders.

No they don't have spears, but it's clos enough. Your other alternative is do what i did and combine dark riders with with eldar jet dudes.

AoS Elven Spear arms should be cheap to find on eBay. Just get some and glue them on some Windriders. It's no more expensive than buying the fugly finecast Spears.

According to the chapter Approved releases date, the 2nd *edition or version* of it with a new balance of points. After newer codex hits and taking considerations from meta and tournament efficiency of some units.
And just some people expect/desire Shinning spears to be nerfed.

Or if you have enough Bright lances from spare heavy weapons just cut the main barrels and use those as spears.

Swooping Hawks definitely deserve a look-in. For 65 points you get a squad that you can plonk down anywhere on the table without spending command points and put 20 shots into a target up to 24" away.

They are not a powerhouse unit but they are cheap, fast and shooty. They can harass backfield units, snag objectives or just hang on for Line Breaker. If you enemy leaves something like a tank unsupported on one flank, the Hawks can even assault it and block its shooting for a turn. Then in your turn they can withdraw and still shoot thanks to their FLY keyword.

They really are quite nice for the points.

i actualy like swooping hawks a lot. I always take a unit or two. The ability to keep a unit safe and bring it back later is very nice. I think they do respectable enough anti horde damage, and can bring mortal wounds that you can leverage against any target.

the only down side for the swooping hawks for me is that they are abit weird to movie around. Once you arive from reserves, it's tough to move them over units and then back into safety to use their grenades.

Expct... to maybe get nerfed.... in a year from now <.<..... If your worried about your stuff geting nerfed you should be like "Hey i wanna know what the worst units are right now." At some point you gotta buy something . As a melee unit i doubt they'll every get to uch crazy levels as to get tghat much nerf attention. Look at tournament list they aren't in every eldar list, but they do many many.
