So I am looking at trying to so some modeling for kitbashing orcs and what not. What do people use for all these conversions. I hear plasitcard, but i can only find the plain stuff. How do people get all these patterns, grates, i beams, rivets etc...
What are some good Kits that provide lots of kit bashing opportunities?
I also read that some people use 1/35 military model scale stuff for conversions. I saw a German halftrack 251/1 ork-i-fied which looked cool. Basically I am looking for websites, or a list of all the bits and pieces, and kits, and what not that are good for converting. Looking at trying to do a mechanized theme. Trukks, battlewagons, warbuggies, bikes, etc....

Thanks.

I believe you can buy patterned plasticard off ebay. You can use basically anything for an ork conversion, such as toy cars/ jeeps for buggies, WW2 tanks for battlewagons, etc.
The stormboyz kit has quite a few extra little bits for conversions. I don't know for sure, but the trukk kit seems to have lots and lots of bits, especially if you don't build the trukk itself. The dakkajet kit has an incredible amount of extra bits in it. I'm still using parts from a dakkajet I bought a year and a half ago.

Some depends how much money you have.

Basically buy bits off Ebay, especially when someone's offloading a bunch. Keep an eye open for 'em.
Buy the GW kits new, like the Trukk, Battlewagon, Mek Gunz (also load of extra stuff), and the plane.
Get bits from friends and/or models - once they know you're looking for stuff to orkify, they'll probably keep you in mind especially when getting rid of old stuff.

Other places - try looking through the links at the top of the forum. Personally I love Kromlech - both whole and bits. There's a couple others but I think they're in the aforementioned thread and I can't recall them off the top of my head.

I love https://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/ for GW Bits - great when you're looking especially for a particular bit. High turnover, but also pretty fast restock. And he does have an alert/wishlist type system which is handy.

You can also buy models off Ebay to cannibalize. Deffkoptas (the Assault on Black Reach ones) are *awesome* for all kinds of conversions, besides just being a cool model themselves.

Plasticard:
amazon sells some (fairly limited though I've found)
If you're near a HobbyTown, they carry a lot.
Scenic Express carries some.http://www.sceneryexpress.com/Scratch-Build-Materials/products/1223/
You can try Evergreen https://evergreenscalemodels.com/ (one of makers of styrene stuffs)
Gale Force Nine also carries some (though I think it's a little more expensive than others)

basically look up styrene in your area, scratch building, railroad modeling companies etc - maybe see if someone has a local distributor. Or check if there's a hobby/model railroad store near you.

Check out Bitz Bag on ebay. usually a plethora of randomness

For plastic card check out Evergreen plastic:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1311.R1.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.Xevergreen+plas.TRS0&_nkw=evergreen+plastic&_sacat=0

Evergreen sell a odds and end pack but it completely random on what it includes.

For thinner Plastic card that's dirt cheap check out the dollar store for Yard Sale signs some stuff just thin.

That greenstuffworld website is great!

What size plastiscard are you using? How thick? What about the pipes sizing and elbow pieces?
