So I've decided to start an army blog to push me to get my "Death Korps" completed. I'll be adding to this blog frequently over the next couple of weeks hopefully with progress shots. The models are identical to the original Death Korps models with the exception of helmet ridges being cut/filed off to make the them less French and more Imperial German themed.
8. Reichswald Infanterie Regiment - Fluff
Following the conclusion of a successful campaign to purge an Ork infestation from the agri-world of Tannenberg (501.M40), the 819th Krieg acquired settlement rights to the nearby, newly colonised forest world of Reichswald, located in the galactic south of the Segmentum Solar, and to provide the nucleus for a colonial planetary defense force. Since then the colony has largely prospered, growing rapidly to become a lightly industrialised, civilised world. Although every member of the 819th Krieg has long since expired, their influence is no doubt seen in the young Reichswald Imperial Guard regiments that have since been raised from their descendents and those of the original colonists.
The regiment that is the subject of this blog is one of those regiments.
Day 1:
I've completed the Vulture Gunship in the style of the Red Baron (Manfred von Richthofen) from the first world war. I think it turned out reasonably well, too bad there aren't any trideckers in the 41st millenium though.
Big pictures:
I've also completed the test camouflage scheme for my armour which is based on some A7V tank camo i've seen:
Big Picture of a mock-up on an old Leman Russ:
I think I'm satisfiied with the mock-up so will be properly applying it the armour.
Tomorrow I hope to make progress on my 3 Manticores, 3 Sentinels and Paskisher
