Want to keep a relatively dynamic deployment but conceptually - Chaos Lord/Oblits/Deathshrouds in Deepstrike (Depending on opponent list can keep deathshrouds on table to protect Morty)

- Shooting Phase is straightforward - Slaneesh fire x2 + VOTLW on whichever obliterator rolls best numbers/best positioning - Chaos lord with jump pack sits behind for heroic intervention / next turn charge depending on deployment distance
- Cultists / Warpsmith / Deamon prince / Herald of Nurgle - Foot slogging it up the map for objectives / to cancel deepstrike
- Morty / Magnus beeline for enemy essentially (depending on overwatch distance / enemy list) and tank up with weaver / miasma - In a perfect world (yeah right) magnus can warptime morty up the field and he can charge next to where the deathshrouds deepstrike and charge.

Herald of Nurgle / Deamon Prince / VOTLW - herald can put buff on deamon prince or morty (or himself) to add +1 to wounds, on top of blades for DG giving mortals for plague weapon (Deathshrouds, Morty) and VOTLW (Deathshrouds) -
Virulent Blessing/Blades - Essentially Morty or deamon prince can be doing x2 damage on wound rolls over 5+ (both rerolling hit rolls, hitting on 1+ and morty rerolling 1's on wound from plague wep) - Only morty benefits from mortals on rolls of 5+ (and this costs no CP which is nice)
VOTLW/Blades - Deathshrouds - Probably only worth it if Morty is nearby or Prince - as the 3+ to hit nerfs badly the possible damage out considering this costs a CP
Herald also puts prince at 8STR with his malefic talons which is great for other primarchs/vehicles (as the prince has no wings)

- Considerations
- Mutilators are actually not bad with this list instead of deathshrouds, they come in significantly cheaper and can be hit by VOTLW, Virulent Blessing and Blades - they won't get the mortals as they don't use plague weapons but would clock Double damage on wound rolls over 4+ (assuming all abilities go off, VOTLW, Virulent and Putrescent on mutliators - again positioning concern) - however even if these guys deepstrike in and get blown off the table - at about 130 points with 2 + and 5++ they can be a good damage sink (and hey, they might hit their charge) - this also allows prince to take wings
- Herald - Virulent Blessing vs Fleshy Abundance - Fleshy is tempting with morty and the DP rocking 5+ FNP and with deathshrouds potentially eating damage to give morty more durability
- Poxwalkers/Typhus vs cultists - So the breaking point for me here was the alpha legion trait on the oblits and cultists which just seemed mandatory, typhus giving aura and the two casts is money but he would have to be in deepstrike which raises my commitment to the deathshrouds
- Typhus vs Deamon Prince - Would require some list smithing but Typhus actually costs 5 less than Prince with wings - so if we imagine mutilators come in then this opens up the possibility of typhus - the lack of pox walkers is discouraging but would probably use typhus out of deepstrike
- Disgarding the relic on the Chaos Lord and running Magnus as Warlord with 6+ FNP

Goal is to blow all CP as fast as possible really while maximizing number of threats - Also to use smite as a fallback for when positioning denies synergy on wound rolls
Turn 1:
VOTLW / refire with Slaneesh
VOTLW again in fight phase on Deathshrouds (also could use Deamon Shell on the Chaos Lord to add some mortals)

Turn 2:
Ideally VOTLW / Refire with slaneesh again

List looks interesting.

One thing to note is that stratagems have specific timing of when it needs to be activated. When you choose to fire with the Oblits thats the moment you must decide if you want to activate the stratagem. You cannot wait to see how many shots etc etc

Mortarion & Magnus has been a winning combo since release.

I prefer fleshy abundance on the herald of nurgle. The alpha legion detachment is solid.

I personally prefer running deathguard with zombie horde, but for your list I think you made the right call with the culstits and support units.

You sound like you have a very solid game plan and have considered your combos carefully. Theres not much else to advice here other than read carefully the timing on the stratagems, one thing I like to do is to sort out all the stratagems i want to actually use for each list i make and organize them in activation order then cycle through them during the game prior to deciding my actions phase by phase.

One thing I'd like to highlight is people expect the Morty/Magnus combo and generally have ways to easily deal with them. However, with the smite nerf bat (potentially) being handed down, they may be stronger than ever.
