So I'll be getting a Knight Titan soon, of the smallest variety, and I want to magnetize it. I have NEVER worked with magnets on models before, so could I get some advice on what magnets to pick up, how to go about magnetizing it, etc. etc.?

Thorough and complete advice would be vastly appreciated!

As for where to get magnets, you can't go wrong with K&J Magnetics: http://www.kjmagnetics.com/categories.asp?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI08zwmJmp2AIVjrrACh0WmQEEEAAYASAAEgIXkvD_BwE

As for what kind(s) to get, it depends on what parts you are looking to magnetize. I put large disc magnets on my Knight's arms (can't remember the size but they were at least 1/4 inch diameter), and I used some 1/8 x 1/16" disc magnets for other things (like the stubber/meltagun mount).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Can I purchase the same magnets via Amazon? I have an Amazon gift card, so that'd be cheaper.

And I'd like to magnetize as much as possible.

And thank you!

I suggest 3mm ring magnets with 1 mm hole and pinning for the arm sockets, then 3mm x 1mm round ones for regular duty, 2mm or 1mm x 1mm for smaller areas like the shield. Remember you can stack the magnets for stronger fit.

I did my regular GW plastic knight 3 times, you can glue the lower half of the knight below the waist, except the armor plates, which you want to paint it then glue on.

If you have the crusader version, you will need a couple 5mm x 1 mm round magnets also for the fit in elbow area of the fist arm. You should also look into taurox gunner and chair bits for your pilot if you wish to do so.

Ring magnet: drill about 5mm deep in both end with paper clip size drill bit with a pin vise, then with appropriate bit to drill 3mm diameter over the pin hole about 1 mm deep, insert and glue appropriate length paper clip, glue in ring magnet; now the socket is sturdy for the weight arm.

The cannon arm is a bit tricky, you have to match up the swappable parts for the different guns, you’ll have to stack couple magnets together to build up depth on both sides for the magnets to work. Perhaps someone else have the proper image to show you what I’m talking about.

I find this article helpful. I've been looking at getting a knight myself.

I use mix of 2x1mm, 3x2mm and 5x2mm magnets(round) for my magnetization. Seems to be working okay so far. The part that goes to side on battle cannon is trickiest ones so far plus barrel for that(plus melta equilavent) but haven't got that far yet.

Made slight mistake one part that means arm with that piece will be few mm longer with magnet visible but I can leave with that. Maybe magnet sides get enough paint it's not that visible.
