This is what Im considering for the LVO. I know Tide is more competitive, but TBH, I dont want to move / keep-up-with that many models. C&C welcome. I gotta check to see if the squig fits in my carry-on though.... haha. Will check that tomorrow.

Looks good. I'd just drop the banner to include a couple of KMKs.

Or drop the Waugh banner to see if it gives you enough pts to put the Big Mek and the painboy on bikes

Big mek on the ground hasn't worked for me. Gotta bunch up the boyz too much. So he lives in the squiggoth. Not so with painboy who's AOE specifies unit rather than "wholly within"... who can advance along with ghaz. I think the banner / KMK switch would be a good idea. KMKs can be pretty deadly. For points adding another attack vs likely about 3d6 high strength/AP wounds over the course of the game. I can drop the banner and big meks big chopper and exchange for 2 KMKs...hmmm

I like the Painboy w/ Killsaw.

In fact, I'm starting to like the Killsaw in general and maybe even in copious amounts.

I'm also starting to favour the powerklaw over the Big Choppa for Nobz, but in general I like Nobz with 2, two-handed weapons; if you can do it, abuse it, so bravo.
I don't know how much it really matters in a unit of 30: the extra hitting power isn't strictly necessary, but the nob lasts, and although it feels like it's important to get some kind of economy on that by givin em a fancy weapon; I'm pretty comfortable seeing them with a shoota and a choppa.

In fact, I like cheap nobz and having one or more slightly smaller boy units. 4 units of boyz, to me, seems merely adequate in the current edition. Having the ability to shift a bit is so key. Mobbing up makes it easier to protect a unit that's getting focused down, and I feel that gives orks greater flexibility in unit sizes, at least when it comes to boyz. Dakka dakka and a huge unit of tankbustas is super flashy, but mobbing up has, in times gone by, been a way for ork armies to consolidate and bunker down and win da fight. I think that having a battalion and bringing the CP for mob ups will be worth it.

For a while I've made and played fluffy variety boss nobz to go along with a plethora of painting schemes throughout my own ork army. I've been making magnetized bosspole gun holsters or sling type backpacks for nobz. I like magnetizing outstretched hands to have either a slugga or a shoota or kombi weapon but it's hard to get the scale and pose right in all cases.
The truth is at the rate small changes are hitting equipment I need to both bulk up nobz and give my characters more magnets. I've even vowed to magnetize the next block of 30 boyz I assemble because, lets face it: what if GW chapter approves the slugga or shoota to cost 1 pt more. We'll all be hatin life.

I think Killsaws or Powerklaws will be hot for a minute, and go away again in a really annoying fashion. I was literally in the process of pulling an arm off my KFF mek, to make him more economical, and I might just put his Killsaw right back on. Although to be fair my big mek kore is also burgeoning because the warbike big mek is best, it's worth the advantages he gets and it's a better killsaw platform. I also think Waaagh Banner and Powerklaws/Killsaws go together famously and I'm sad that you're going away from that. I feel CC goes a lot further than watering down with KMKs and artillery type units and that's a belief I've always had with orks regardless of the particulars. Screw artillery that's fer grots.

Personally I would rather take Zhadsnark than Ghazghkull.

Gargantuan Squiggoth is definitely having it's time in the sun right now.

A green tide is just an unwieldy strategy to play and when you've got a lot of models it's still easy to fret over the details. Keep it simple.

You made some compromises from the "purist" vision of what a green tide should be, but they are still utterly strong choices so what's there to worry about eh?

Tell us how it goes.
