Hi everyone,
Recently decided to jump in and get a creature caster demon, and finally got round to building it.

So far ive only washed it (3 times) in warm soapy water and scrubbed with a soft toothbrush. Some pieces have come out well, but others are still shiny and ive read this isnt good. These are the wings and smooth... buttocks areas of the model, so the larger smoother surfaces and i dont know whether im just being paranoid washing it so much but ive ehard shiny resin means paint wont stick.
Has anyone any experience with creature caster and this issue? Should i keep washing it till it stops beimg shiny or just prime it?
I was planning on using automotive primer (halfords cheap stuff) as ive read its better for resin.
Thanks in advance
Hawke

Washing with lightly soapy warm water with an old toothbrush should be enough to remove the residue on the model. At least in my experiences even smoother areas of resin haven't been an issue once washed.

As for the undercoat type I can't say I've experimented with other type to say if one kind is superior to another, though I've never had issue with GW white/black primer.

I dont think iv ever had any issues just spray priming over super shiny spots. iv had a few on some FW models but it hasnt been an issue

though i aint rubbin that daemon butt

if all else fails you could take a very high grit sanding sponge and rough it up slightly to remove the shine and give the primer something to bite onto.

Thanks guys!
The shinier parts have just finished a fourth soak/scrub so now i think they are pretty much the cleanest thing in my house. Just gunna build it and prime it and see what happens! Scrubbing that daemon butt gets a bit tedious after a while...
Ill be sure to get some pics posted on the showcase once hes all painted up

Never had a problem with glassy-shiny resin taking up primer. It's no worse than smooth plastic. Worst case, some fine grit sandpaper should sort it out.
