G'day all, thanks in advance for your help.

I have a Lieutenant in my SM list with the Teeth of Terra Relic and I am wondering how many attacks in melee he will get with it.

He has 3 attacks in his profile, the Teeth of Terra gives him an additional D3 extra, so 4-6?

And then, what if I give him a second chainsword?

I have heard various things from those I have asked so far and I have scoured the net to find the answer to no avail.

I would really appreciate an answer, and an explanation would be even better.

3 base attacks + 1 extra attack for one chainsword + D3 for teeth of terra.

Bear in mind that you use the Chainsword profile for the additional attack it grants you though.

I build one of my Captains in a similar way:

4 Attacks Base, has a Thunder Hammer and a Chainsword that's upgraded to the Teeth of Terra.

4 Base Attacks get to choose between the TH and the ToT profile
D3 additional Attacks use the ToT profile

If you used two Chainswords as a base instead you'd end up with
4+D3 ToT attacks plus 1 chainsword attack. You could use the chainsword for all the attacks, but that'd be stupid.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to go with the Teeth of Terra only (no extra chainsword).

Therefore, I will get 3A (Lieutenant) + D3 attacks when fighting in melee with the TOT, correct?

So 4-6 attacks total?
