Back in 1994 Games Workshop had a contest and the grand prize was a 24k gold plated Eldar avatar of which there were 10 made.

I have one of these available with a receipt from games workshop verifying authenticity. I am planning on auctioning/selling it, but I haven't played Warhammer 40k in many years, so I was wondering if anyone had a guess on what the value might be.

Grab a free trial and that'll give you an indiction.

Seems pretty sad that only 10 were made and at least two of them just got resold.

It's very interesting, but I can't imagine it'd be worth all that much.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

To be clear, are you looking to sell it here? Swap shop isn’t a “how much is this worth” place, even for rare and cool items like this.

Sorry, I do intend to sell it, but if it's against forum policy to ask for appraisal information i understand. Please feel free to delete this post, I would do it myself but I can't see a button for that. Thanks!

your mind

I might trade you some newly assembled Imperial Guard and a few newer style Eldar jetbikes still on the sprue, and toss in a bunch of primed Sisters of Battle if you want to get rid of it.

I'd recommend that this would be a good place to start to help with appraisals and finding a possible buyer:

The collecting citadel miniatures group would have a special interest in this (you can find details on them on the oldhammer forum above).

I'd say the material worth is around £50 (for the model and gold plating). I guess it's possible that a collector might pay more for a genuine item.
