Here is probably stupid but curious question I have about Warlord traits from codexes and Mixed armies. For example if I had a Space Marine Character as my warlord in a Mixed Imperium detachment would I be able to take Adept of the Codex or Merciless Logic?

I am leaning toward yes simply because it says named characters MUST take specific warlord traits which would imply that you have access to the Warlord traits regardless of composition but wordings are funny things in 40k

Yes. The warlord traits only require your warlord be from the appropriate faction, and do not have any detachment requirements. Note that for the chapter specific traits, your warlord has to be from that specific chapter, not a successor or custom chapter.

Your "Free" relic is from the faction that your warlord belongs to. It has to be given to a character in that faction who can 'legally' have it.

A mixed detachment will not unlock stratagems so you will not be able to pay CP to get one for any of the 'soup' models unless you also have a pure detachment.
