Hi wasn't sure what the best forum to post this was so if not here please let me know.

My gaming mat seems to have got damp at some point recently and has a bit of mould on it and I wondered if it was possible to put it in the washing machine to clean it?

If not does anyone have an alternative on how to clean it?

Cheers

What material?

Unless it's plain cloth, I doubt a washing machine will do it any favours.

White vinegar and sodium bicarbonate (mix, shake and spray over it - it has to be done while it is still foaming) will kill mould spores.

If it's a neoprene ("mousemat" style ) one, it should be possible to machine wash it. I have a couple of knee braces with neoprene sleeves that I put through the wash fine - but I've never put a mat through as I don't have one.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

My guess is that flock would not survive a washing machine.

Bleach is a good mould killer, although of course can bleach/change colours too - try dabbing some dilute bleach on an unimportant area and see how colour-fast the material is.
