I’ve always had a weird attraction to the idea of a Tyranid gunline, now the codex is out I’m wondering if it can work. Here’s what I’ve come up with:

I had to drop the Hive Guard from 6 to 4 to make room for the Exocrine. I’m wondering whether I should just drop the Termagants, take some more Warriors and the extra 2 Hive Guard.

You likely need Termagants, for bubblewrap. So you should keep them, but you don't need Devilgaunts for that job. That saves 120 points right there.

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

Good call! I had forgotten how many points I’d sunk into that unit. That’s the Hive Guard up to 6 models, leaves just shy of 30 points free to share a few upgrades around.

My friend has been running a Kronos gun line since the book came out and every single person he has faced as had a very rough time lasting until turn 3. He does a double battalion, two hive tyrants, three units of rippers, three units of gaunts, two Tyranofex's with rupture cannons two Exocrines, a unit of four zoanthropes, two neuothropes and a malanthrope. He had hive guard but really didn't need the shooting so he put in the neuothropes so if anything happens to get through the screen to the gun line they get psychic blasted
