So now the Redemptor Dreadnought Easy to Build is legal. Nice.
A buff to the "Speed of the Raven" Stratagem, also very nice.
Now a Vanilla Intercessor Sargeant can take a Power Sword, and a Captain a Powerfist and a Plasmagun like the Anniversary one. More options to primaris is always a good thing.

And the blood Angel Intercessor sargeant is the one with most options now, he can take a chainsword or powersword. Nice.

They already could. Now they can leave their gun home. Not that anyone ever would, as it is free.

Yeah. I'm a bit jealous. I wish they'd give the chainsword option to the other chapters too, just for variety.

It was obvious that it was an error after the Eldar FAQ with the spirit stones. I have been paying 44p for him since the beginning.

Heh - and here I am, writing the GW FAQ guys to update the PDF so Space Wolves get the same 'either or' that Blood Angels now have.

Seriously, they should just give all chapters access to all power weapons and the chainsword. Maybe even power fists. And Reiver sergeants definitely should have some CC weapon options too. It is crazy that they don't.

Unless you play dark angels or blood angels. LoL. Was it so hard to copy that paragraph into 2 other FAQs?
Nevermind. I'll play it with the option regardless of what the official FAQ says.
On the one hand I'm glad we got the FAQ for dark angels. On the other hand I expected more than 3 entries. I find it amusing that immediately after announcing the codex-FAQ cycle of 2 weeks, we had to wait longer than that, but obviously that was due to the holidays.

I

If history is any indication, SW will get that and more. I expect their primaris troops entry to have actual options on most if not all models and not just sergeant equivalents.

Just give them a founding chapter keyword and run with it. Theres literally no reason ever to take a Sucessor chapter. In Dark Angels for example, you gain 0 benefits and only lose things. Play your sucessor with Dark Angels Keyword, and use Azrael's rules to run your chapter master, etc...

I mean, my marines are painted ultra... and I know that's what you should do. but it seems REALLY petty for gw to rule on that.

Psh. My Blood Angels are gonna be black. Except the Death Company, who are going to be red. Paint 'em how you want and be clear with your opponent what chapter you're running.

yeah this really only applies or the rare case where you have sucessor characters, like forge world etc. and does a UM tactic really mean much if you're using say... Gabriel angelos?

The warlord trait thing isn't even a change. It's a straight interpretation of how it's written in the Codex "...but only if your Warlord is from the relevant Chapter."

You can still use successors fluffwise, just not crunchwise. Paint them however you want, just put "Ultramarines" or whatever on the army list. All this does is stop you from using the Chapter specific traits and Forge World successor special characters effectively in the same army/detachment.

Equally the Speed Of The Raven isn't a buff, it's a straight-up clarification.

Agreed. Anyone that complains that Flesh Tearers, a Blood Angel Successor chapter, are using the Blood Angel chapter keyword and rules from the same codex at a pickup game is a TFG IMO. That's a very unbalanced restriction on successors for GW to put out just for using a single character and/or relic at best.

I'm a little confused by the Bolter Drill update;

Page 197 – Bolter Drill Change the first two sentences to read: ‘Use this Stratagem just before an Imperial Fists Infantry unit attacks in the Shooting phase. Until the end of the phase, each time you make a hit roll of 6+ for a model from that unit firing a bolt weapon, that model can immediately make another hit roll using the same weapon at the same target (these bonus attacks cannot themselves generate any further attacks).

That's what the first 2 sentences state word for word in my codex already. Now, I do have the ePub version so does that mean that the digital version got updated before I could read the difference?
