I know that, for matched play, it is necessary to use the most updated points costs/rules for units. So, if a unit was point costed in General's Handbook 1 as 80 points, and updated in GHB2 to be 100, you are supposed to use the updated point value.

What are yo supposed to do if the unit is listed, with point value, in GHB1 but is no longer listed in GHB2? Does this mean you can no longer use that profile in matched play, or, does the GHB1 listing remain playable?

If the latter is true, does this mean that legacy armies can still use their old world character's that were given matched play points in GHB1 even though they were not carried over into GHB2?

Thanks for the help!

Most things no longer in the new GHB have been moved to the Compendiums. Still perfectly legal in matched play, but now usually restricted to Grand Alliance. Further many of the old named characters have been made generic. For example Vlad is now just a Vampire Lord.

Thank you. My question was orginally aimed at the massive array of Old World characters that I have the models painted for such as Tyrion, Teclis, Caradryan, Greasus Goldtooth, Skrag the Slaughtermaster, etc.

I was hopeful that, since many had point values in the original GH, I could still use them in matched play. But, by the logic of "everything being made generic", such as Vlad, I apparently cannot. It is a sad day when we see the Heroes of Old lost to the ages...

There's nothing that says you can't still use all of those guys and their old scrolls or whatnot, as long as your opponent agrees to it.
