Haven't played in some time and trying to get back into it so making a Space Marine army for an Escalation League and this is what I have so far:

Tactical Squad x5 (160)
- Plasma Gun
- Razorback w Twin Linked Lascannon

Tactical Squad x5 (160)
- Plasma Gun
- Razorback w Twin Linked Lascannon

Assault Squad with Jump Packs x5 (107)
- Melta Bombs on Sgt.
- P Sword on Sgt
- Flamer x2

Chaplain (72)

Altogether 499 Points. I realize I am assuming the Chaplain can ride with one of the Tactical Squads in the Razorback but niot 100% sure will have to check. Any feedback welcome.

My math says you are over by 75 points.

The Razorbacks themselves are 120 points each.

I saw another list that had that point cost and I should have followed it up but forgot to and ran with it. Still I'm getting 115 (65+50) where is the other 5 coming from?

Did you account for chapter approved points increase? my math has you over by 75pts too??

Assault squads are cute and an aesthetically nice unit... but when it comes to the crunch they die too easily.

if you have access to models I'd swap these out; grab 2 combi-plasmas for my sgts then invest in some dakka... maybe a landspeeder with assault cannon and heavy bolter?

yes the chaplain can ride with 5 tacticals in a razor

What chapter tactic are you using? I'd drop the assault marines entirely and swap the chaplain for a captain, if possible. Add in a combi-plasma or two, maybe a power sword with whatever points you still have.

Imperial Fists Chapter Tactic. I'm not sure if I have any Combi-plasma off the top of my head will take a look. I haven't put anything together yet as I wanted to try and figure out the starting list first.

Smart move; all too many of us dive in making our cool little figures then suffer the consequences later...

Combi-plasmas to match the plasmaguns would be a strong choice. and the Captain swap would also be highly advisable, good advise from Porphyrius

I was updating the list to make sure the points would be right and making the Chaplain a Captain when rules regarding Forge World were made clearer. Originally thought it was FW vehicles but it is any FW at all, which kind of puts me out if it. Pauldrons? FW Combi-plasma (ordered :/) FW, MKI Jump Packs? FW Assault Cannon on Cataphractii Terminators? FW

The funny thing, I suppose, is that the Contemptor Dreadnought I have isn't the FW one. I thought about doing Tau but they don't have a proper Codex and I was planning on waiti8ng until that was out to assemble the few I have.

Yeah Tactical, devastator, and Sternguard all come with combi weapons, plus some on the various characters. You shouldn't be needing to order them from FW.

Moreover its not about that; it's about the options being codexed. forgeworld restrictions apply to unit entires. combi-weapons, jump packs and the other options bar assault cannons on cataphractii terminators are codex compliant

I got two combi plasma off ebay and if they don't like the shoulder pads being Forgeworld I guess that will be to bad as I'm not making another set just for that. Here is the revised list:

Hmmn okay; ngl I miss the presence of that 2nd tactical squad, your body count is low and 5 of them are those assault marines...

I'd drop those assault marines for a second tactical squad outfitted the same but without the transport.
