Hello !
I recently fell back into the Hobby (I painted shaggy Space Marines when I was quite a bit younger), and since I have a friend coming back with me, I want to actually build an army. I choose Drukhari mainly because the models are gorgeous, and my only knowledge is from the forums/threads I read about the game and the sadistic faction of 40k. So I'm a big noob in the world of dakka, and I request your help !

I built the following list with a few things in mind :
1. I will mainly play against my friend, who is a big Tau battlesuit enthusiast (so he's painting Crisis suits and other nasty things) : he will play a elite-heavy army with no infantry for now. But having a well-rounded army is a plus if I want to play with other people to !
2. This army is 750 points, and I will grow it while investing into the hobby. I eventually want to evolve this first army into an Ynnari army with Yvraine+Visarch, wraithblades/etc... from Eldars because I like the models a lot.
3. I am a HUGE fan of Scourge units : I already bought a box of them, and I think I nailed their painting so I want to play them (and eventually add more in the future).
4. Cost of models is a bit steep for me : I am getting the Start Collecting box, and other things not too expensive for now.
4. I really hope I did the math right, but I'm not sure of it

The list :

DRUKHARI - 754 points

- QG : Archon
w/ Blaster, Agonizer : 73 points

- TROOPS
- Kabalite warriors x10
Sybarite w/ Splinter Rifle : 70 point

- Kabalite warriors x5
Sybarite w/ Splinter Rifle : 35 point

- Kabalite warriors x5
Sybarite w/ Dark Lance : 55 point

- ELITE
- Kabalite Trueborn x5
w/ Dark Lance x2, Blaster x2
Dracon w/ Power Sword and Blaster : 144 point

- FAST ATTACK
- Reavers x3
w/ Caltrops : 90 point

- Scourges x5
w/ Haywire Blaster, Heat Lance, 2x Shardcarabine
Solarite w/ Shardcarabine : 107 point

- HEAVY SUPPORT
- Raider w/ Dark Lance and Bladevanes : 115 point
- Venom : 65 point

I packed Dark Lances against those big exo-armors. Global strategy is : Archon with the 10-man squad of warriors in the Raider securing the objectives ; 2 squads of 5 warriors wandering around cover and shooting people ; Trueborns in the venom to focus fire on nasty things ; Scourges flying around, waiting to deploy in the back of the enemy to unleash suffering onto him.
I think I lack transport, but how important are Venoms in this army ? I don't have the strategic experience to answer this.

Thanks a lot for reading through this (and deciphering my so-so english )
May the gods of Dakka be with ya.

Welcome to Dakka

The fantastic models are the main reason why i started to collect Drukhari as well.I pretty much started with the same models as you did as well.

Firstly being over by 4 points is not really ok, unless agreed upon by your friend,

Now i am not an expert with Drukhari but what i have read and learnt by playing is that unless in very large squads, anything without a transport will just die without achieving much.

Drukhari are just too weak with their T3 and 4+ save.

Secondly, Drukhari units love to specialise due to being able to have many of the same weapons in 1 squad.

ok so saying all of that lets run through your list.

Archon load out is fine

For your warriors i would kit them as such:

(2x) (54) = (108)
3 x Kabalite Warriors
1x Kabalite Warrior /w special weapon, Blaster
Sybarite, Agonisor

7x kabalite warrior
Sybarite, agonisor

large squad goes in raider with archon
2 small squads go in venom to zip around and be annoying.

Remember Raiders only have a transport capacity of 10 TOTAL

True Born, some people like them but i just prefer adding more warriors
Also agonisors are by far our most cost effective CC weapon. Powerswords arent worth it due to our weak strength.

LOVE SCOURGES their models are beautiful. anyway.
2 ways of kitting them either
all dark lances and they sit at the back in cover and knock out tanks and armour from a distance
or give them all blasters, drop them behind enemy lines and blast something out of existence. Warning!! expect to loose them next turn as they cant sit out in the open and survive.

Blasters vs Haywire.
plain blasters are generally considered worth the extra 3 points as they dish out much more reliable damage against all targets with its str 8.

thats it.

you have a great starting list and enjoy Hard Mode Warhammer 40k.

Drink in the pain! It will only make you stronger!
