After having yet another rough experience with Humbrol's Matt 49 enamel varnish (a trio of miniatures are now frosty) I got a bit grumpy and ordered myself a bottle of Army Painter's Anti-Shine Matt Varnish. But I'm not quite sure how to use it... For decades I've used either Humbrol enamel or GW's own paint, so this is new.

So....

I'm wanting to brush this on. I presume I give it a good shake, squirt it out into my paint palette and then away I go. But do I thin it? With water?

Has anyone used this before?

Will it help reduce the frosting on the existing miniatures? Should I gloss varnish them and then use this new matt varnish on top?

Did you get it in the dip-tin, spray or otherwise?
I've not used mine yet, but I got the spray. There's no way to thin that.

It's in a little squeezy bottle:
