Hi Everyone,
We've added some changes to the site, you'll now see that it's more secure now we have SSL protection, we have added the final colours and added a postage and colour conversion page.
INSTAR Paint Webstore
While the last page in my view isn't that great, we will be working on on it to make it look better.
Just a few things left to do and we should be ready to launch at the end of the month
What a journey!
Let me know what you think of the new site changes and what else you would like to see in the future

I look forward to the launch, though I'll be waiting until the weather warms up before I do any ordering. Being in Canada, that'll be around April...

Postage page works great nice and clear. The conversion page is a good idea but you may need permission from gw to use their paint names, no expert but that was my first thought.

Hmmm, I did think that as well....might delve a little bit into it today, I can’t see any reason why not as it’s just naming which colour it matches as my paint is different from the other major brands in the fact it’s a near 99% match, not 70-80%, but then you knew that already

Any thoughts on possibly matching some of the more unique P3 paints? I know you guys are just starting and can only have so many in production at a time, but some of them, like Thornwood Green, are hard to match using other brands.

I don’t see any reason why we can’t in the future, we were planning to look at Vallejo next and the Vintage line but we have so much to do at the moment that it might be a while before we can move onto P3 paints, but we will certainly look into it

Far be it from me to tell you how to run a business, but my personal thinking would be that it is far more unique to go the route of matching the old Citadel and the more unique P3 paints, because (as far as I know) no one else is doing this at all. I know there are definitely a fair number of people who stay away from P3 due to it being in pots rather than dropper bottles and I think there are some that just don't care for other properties of it. And there are a fair number of us "old people" who still have (and use) the old Citadel paints and would love to match some up.
I don't know, I just think that in a sea of paint brands, you really want something to differentiate InStar and carve out a market niche that no one is even trying to fill, rather than trying to slug it out with a massive paint line like Vallejo (that is generally well liked and widely distributed). The ROIC on taking on Vallejo seems low, where doing something no one else is seems higher, but that's just my amateur 2 cents.

Matching the old citadel colours is something we're already doing with our INSTAR Vintage line, while we only have two colours made at the moment, that will be increasing soon. At the moment we can go back as far as the late 90's with our colours, Ideally we'd really like to bring back some of the rarer colours such as Titillating Pink from the 80's, but being that they are rare, they are really difficult to come across.
We can certainly looking at matching the P3 range into our line, however we will be working on some of our own unique colours in the future.
