The Thousand Sons codex has a perception problem.

Imagine if we didn't see any changes in the CSM book and then this book hit. Our benefits would be:

But since we saw them coming they're no longer a bonus. That said I still think Rubrics should come down a couple points. In any case people went out with newly costed Rubrics under Index and saw that Rubrics were not great - no VotLW, not enough spells, etc.

Then the Tzaangors get aura buffs, which makes them very flexible. Previously people argued with me that cultists were way better for the job, because Tzaangors literally had nothing. Now that they have buffs and access to deepstrike and VotLW? Oh gak - the sky is falling.

This leaves Rubrics with :

And at the same time we get stripped of the Soulreaper in 5 (which should be FAQ'd)

Going back to Tzaangors - people are acting like they can drop in and easily lay out all the buffs. Not really.

You want enlightened? You need a shaman.
You want to deepstrike tzaangors? You need an extra shaman and he can't deepstrike or use DMC.
You want the mutalith to buff them? You'll need to leave a long tail and lose attacks.
You want prescience on the tzaangors? The shaman can't take that spell. You need an exalted.
You want warptime? Same thing.
You want to use Magnus? What happens when he gets alpha'd?

And then you wind up being daemons without getting models back on morale tests of 1.

This can all just be ignored as an argument because this is a problem that any army that has deepstrike stratagems faces.

Good job TS have access to Sorcerers with these powers then isn't it? Never thought I'd see the day that a player would complain that they have to take units from their core army.
You want to use Magnus? What happens when he gets alpha'd?

And if you get first turn? You have a monster with 18-36" movement, 3++ re-rolling 1s and the ability to decimate anything you touch.
And then you wind up being daemons without getting models back on morale tests of 1.

I mean... This is just wrong, completely wrong with nothing that you said before hand supporting this claim.

If you're gonna be salty, at least come in with some coherent arguments to start it off with.
