Hey dakkanists,
I've scheduled a friendly game in the near future. I want to make something competitive and fun to play. I actually asked some feedback on another forum, but didn't get any comments, so I'll try it out here.

The following list should have some synergy from stratagems and units on the field, what do you guys think? Is this near competitive or maybe too much for friendly game?

There's a reroll 1's to wound and hit gunline with -1 to hit modifier and you get to shoot back at BS2+ if your model in the gunline is slain. There's also the WODA stratagem for +1 dmg on the plasma cannon unit.

There's also some nasty CQC HQ's in the Blood Angels force. The tacticals are there for 2+ save in cover and possible hellfire stratagem to protect the gunline.

Batallion (Blood Angels)

Mephiston (quickening, unleash rage, wings of sanguinius)
Captain (warlord) > jump pack - {Relic: Angel's wings} > thunder hammer > inferno pistol > (artisan of war) > (1CP: death visions of the Sanguinius)

5man scout squad > 5x boltgun > chainsword on the sergeant
5man scout squad > 5x boltgun > chainsword on the sergeant
5man tactical squad > 4x boltgun > heavy bolter > power axe on the sergeant

Vanguard (Blood Angels)

Lemartes

12man death company > jump packs > 12x boltgun > 3x power fist > 3x power sword > 6x chainsword
7man sanguinary guard > 5x angelus boltgun & encarmine sword > 2x inferno pistol & power fist
Sanguinary ancient > angelus boltgun & encarmine sword > {Relic: Banner of Sacrifice}

Spearhead (Dark Angels)

Primaris lieutenant > master-crafted auto bolt rifle

Chapter ancient > storm bolter

Darkshroud > heavy bolter

5man devastator squad > armorium cherub > 2x boltgun > 3x lascannon > chainsword on the sergeant
5man devastator squad > armorium cherub > 2x boltgun > 3x lascannon > chainsword on the sergeant
7man devastator squad > armorium cherub > 3x boltgun > 4x plasma cannon > chainsword on the sergeant

I see what you did there.

Anyways this list seems close to the one that topped 8 at the LVO.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

Hmm,
which list are you referring to? As far as I know there weren't any DA in the top 8. Don't know about lists beyond, only saw the top 8 after day 1.

Even if one plays a top list, it is not guaranteed that one can succeed with it.
Those guys at the GT top tables have lots of experience with their army, have decent tactical understanding, and know the enemy.
It takes years to get there.

If we put LVO and top table gaming aside and examine my list. It shouldn't be a copy or even an alteration of anyone's list.

What's your feel to it? If we can take something from LVO is that parking lot strategy is not valid anymore.

Maybe Devastors from Ravenguard could be an option.
DA and BA together is not very fluffy.

Is that darkshroud really worth it? for its cost you could almost get a dark talon or get another dev squad. Both of which would be tough to take down but also deal damage.

Fully Painted Armies: 2200pts Orks 1000pts Space Marines 1200pts Tau 2500pts Blood Angels 3500pts Imperial Guard/Renegades and 1700pts Daemons 450pts Imperial Knights

My game will be against RG and my armies are actually BA, DA, DG. I could play another green marines for sure.

Darkshroud is there to give protection especially to the plasma cannon squad so that I could atleast once shoot with the WODA. Darkshroud can also grab objectives later in the game with turbo-boost.

If I change the faction for the gunline, I'll lose the WODA strat and reroll ones to hit, so not much into that.

Darkshroud could be replaced for more shooting though for fe:

- darkshroud
- storm bolter from the chapter ancient
- power axe from the tactical squad
+ 5man devastator squad > cherub > 3x missile launcher

exact same points. I was planning on jinking 1/4 of an inch with the darkshroud anyway and keep it covering the gunline while being -1 to hit and have a 4+ inv save.

What else could be done... get a razorback with LC or AC..

You all think the darkshroud has no place? The BA counterpart is solid?

They used to be in the same codex.

While I was finishing my darkshroud model I was thinking ways to skip the whole fire base, long range dakka altogether and just use mobility and cc slamming..

What do you think, could this be an equally mean list to play against? I'll get a test game under my belt within a week or so with the soup list, but the following list is something I could pull from my current minis also.. What do you think? It's 10CP -2 (-1 for 2nd relic and -1 for death visions of the Sanguinius). To me it feels that every blob/unit is a threat itself besides scouts.. Target saturation is maxed?

Well, any reports on how the above list performed? It is very similar to mine, except I kept my Death Company cheaper, and run a Spearhead as my third detachment instead of a Vanguard.

I am wondering how a lack of decent ranged firepower would work, since every battle report I have seen where the BA lack a decent firebase they get hosed.

I am assuming that your Tac Squad sergeants also have a Chainsword, since there is no reason not to because it is free.

The two 4x plasma ob sec rhino tacs got their inspiration from your list NH.

If you loo at the LVO SM lists, they have quite little anti-tank weaponry. But I can see many ways to die against AM or any other static gunline, but it'll be bloody.

Rhinos with tacs on both flanks, mephy with the scout screens in the middle. DC deploy aggressively and if I don't go first I just forlon's fury them backwards and redeploy with the strat when I get my turn. On my turn drop everything and use Lemmy's reroll for DC capt and DC and 3d6 charge on the SG. Maybe try to spider leg attack bonuses from both Astorath and Sanguinor for the DC and the SG. Let's hope I can clear some screens before hand

Atleast that sounds a fun and bloody strategy. Five star punchline, a bit of a herohammer.. Mr. Slamguinius, Astorath, Lemartes, Mephiston and Sanguinor..
