So I recently went to a local tournament and did very well. Ended up placing 2nd because I had to leave at the end of the 3rd battle round on the final table. Anyway I'd like to build this list up to 2000 points. If possible I'd like to keep the Tzeentch Daemonkin theme going but I'm open to almost anything as long as it's Tzeentch. Was looking to either add more Daemons or possibly something from the new Thousand Sons Codex. My first thought was Ahriman on Disk with 3 Tzaangor Shaman's but not sure if that would add anything to my list. Any advice?

CSM Spearhead (Iron Warriors)

Daemon Prince with Wings, Tzeentch, Warp Bolter, Talons x 2, Warlord (Fleshmetal Skeleton and Unholy Fortitude) Knows Death Hex

3 units of Tzeentch Obliterators

Daemon Battalion detachment (Tzeentch)

Changecaster with Staff of change, Boon of Tzeentch, and Gaze of Fate

Fluxmaster with Staff of change, Boon of Tzeentch, and Flickering Flames

20 x Pinks with Icon and Instrument

10 x Blues

10 x Brims

10 x Brims

3 x Exalted Flamers

Could add a nice Flamer Bomb to the list

Daemon Prince of Tzeentch w/ Wings, 2x Talons (knows Flickering Flames) (for more pain train make him Warlord with Daemonspark goodness)
9x Flamers of Tzeentch

With this combo the DP gives the Flamers +1 to Wound and Re-Roll 1s to wound in the shooting phase. It comes in just over 400 points.
Tactic "Denizens of the Warp" the DP with the Flamers.

Re-arrange army detachments by moving an HQ and the 3x Exalted Flamers into a Vanguard Detachment for +1 CP.

I would split the 10 blues into the 10 man brim units. Then increase the pink horror squad to 30.

Maybe take the fatesk8mmer over the fluxmaster. Then hopefully you'll have something like 200pts for reinforcement pts. Use those to keep the pink horror squad alive via the split. Since splitting happens while damage is being allocated you could force your opponent to kill 2 blue horrors and 2 brims for every 1 pink horror. Keeping the pink horrors above 20 members for quite alot longer than they should.

Similarly keeping the blues inside the brimstone squads lets you bolster thier numbers with fresh brim stone should you feel you need to make your initial screen bigger.

It'll be kind of like playing a horde army but you won't have to actualy move tons of models around.

The skimmer is also decently strong in melee and can hand out with the daemon prince

Max out the Pink Horrors squad, save the rest of the 500 points as reinforcement to keep the Horror squad alive, and preferably above 20 Pinks.

Well, perhaps not that much, but keeping a solid 100-150 points around for reinforcements will really make that Pink Horrors squad a tough nut.

Personally I've found that the pink horrors bomb is just used as a distraction. I like keeping them at exactly 20 due to only paying 1 CP to drop them. Once they have dropped and cleared out the chaff I honestly could care less about what happens to them. During their next shooting phase I typically pay the CP to
give them a 3++ save and that will either absorb all the shooting or they will leave it completely alone. Id much rather them shoot a crap unit of horrors than anything worth it.

I've used a flamer bomb before and it generally gets shot to hell. Right now just fiddling with the list I've added this:

10 brimstone horrors
10 blue horrors
(Objective camping or shielding my important characters)

Arhiman on Disc
(Benefits fluff wise having the Daemon Keyword plus really adds some powerful magic)

6 Scarab Occult Terminators
5 with Inferno Combi Bolters and Power Swords
Sorcerer with Power Stave and Inferno Combi Bolter (Knows Prescience for 2+ to hit)

Figured that gave me another unit to drop via deep strike.

This army worked really really well spreading my opponent out and not giving them anything good to shoot at. All my characters in the backline are protected by blues and brimstone. Obliterators can't be left alone, neither can the blob of pinks. Add in a hard hitting survivable terminator squad and my opponent has too many choices. Meanwhile my magic ans shooting will focus on killing important units and characters (btw not much character wise lives from 3 exhalted Flamers mini lascannon shots without their invul save)

Or I could swap the Scarab Occult Termies with non Thousand Sons Termies. For basically the same amount of points I could get a 5 man squad with 5 Combi plasma guns and power swords. Use Arhiman to cast Prescience and keep the Daemon prince close by to re roll 1's. Hell if I wanted to I could use Vets of the Long war to make them wound almost anything on a 2.

Hmmm or I could forsake Arhiman and go for two of those squads.

Thoughts?

I don't know horrors are pretty great and hard to get rid of.

The terminators are now and I think will al2wys be to slow to get thier job done. Just deep striking and putting down expensive and abit sub par fire power. If your he'll bent of taking one the sarubs are probably better???

From there I don't see what you care about chaffee you have a flyi ng melee unit and a bunch of shooting if the charge is in your way you could just shoot over them.

I think if you wanna do the terminators and not go ham on the immovable horror blob, i' d say drop the horrors all together. Horrors are good shooting but also being an amazing screen in the form of split that can protect a host of charactera. If your just gonna use the shooting. I'd just take the two of the terminator squads you mentioned.

From there you said your interested in tournaments. With all the brim stones your gonna give up reaper really eqsily. Basicly donating 4 free points, and even more point in the form of out damaging your opponent.

Edit: Also I'd only bring the banner if you are gonna use the Horrors as the monster blob otherwise it doesn't get enough millage to be worth the points. The instrument of the horrors of say the same as its the blue horrors that you want to mop up charge that make the mistake of charging the growing horde

I'd have to deep strike the terminators near the DP so I can re roll 1's. Getting Arhiman into a Thousand Sons detachment gives him +6" for all of his spells and having him on the disc gives him some synergy with the rest of the list.
