please note that i have just started making up the chapter and i am not very educated in the imperial time line and all the founding and what not, which is why i have given the brother guard two chapter masters i don't know if that is allowed but if you could inform me that would be great thank you.
The Brother Guard (BG) chapter is a noble and blood tied chapter descendant from the blood angels established during the 28th founding.
Dimidium-Vita information:
The home of the brother guard Dimidium-Vita (half life), is a death world located in the Ezmorian sector. The name Dimidium-Vita (D-V) meaning half-life gets its name from the state of the planet its self. Through out the entire inhabited history of D-V half the planet has been engulf by thick gaseous clouds that block out the sun and engulfing the so called dead zone in entire darkness, killing off all and any life.
The other side of D-V however is completely engulfed in harsh unyielding sunlight and scorching heat. Due to these extreme conditions the inhabitants are forced to live underground to evade the scorching heat that would instantly kill even the mighty Astarties.
Inhabitants:
The harsh environments of D-V means that the only the strongest or those blessed by the god emperor himself can survive resulting Dimidiums population being quite small even for a death world, and considering that only the strongest of the recruits can survive training till the neophyte stage and even fewer of those few survive into becoming a full Astarties Battle Brother, making the Brother guard one of the most robust and survivable legionaries the imperium has ever created but with every strength comes a weakness, and for the brother guard it is number.
chapter master's!:
another unique trait that the brother guard chapter holds is that they have two chapter masters.
their names Protius & Grax War-Born.
these brothers grew up alone (since their mother died of disease when they where but small children) in Dimidium-Vita's (the recruitment and home world of the brother guard) poverty and gang war stricken slums of the death-world with only each other for protection.
it wasn't until the brothers where in their late teens (during the 28th founding) that the high lords of terra initiated the founding of the brother guard. upon seeing the environment of which the brothers had grown up in and how hard they had fought.
they where the first to be put into to the brother guard chapter and both quickly rose to the rank of chapter masters. when this happened they were offered to move to another chapter to lead them, but the brotherly bond between them saw them refuse and stay to lead the brother guard together.
The Blood Binding Ritual:
The brother guard chapter masters have created the idea of brother-ship and comrade-ism through out their entire chapter. As such every single Neophyte undergoes a rigorous ritual known as "The Blood Binding" in which the natural human heart is swaped between the newly forged "Blood Brothers" resulting in the brothers blood beating through each others body.
Battle Brothers Info So Far:
because of the low numbers of recruits and lower numbers of surviving neophytes they must rely upon each other for survival, due this the recruits develop unique and close (family strong) before become a full battle brother Battle brothers partake in the blood binding ritual forming a service long bond between a pare of battle brother who swear to protect each other and die with their blood brothers, those who do not/ could not fulfill this oath are driven mad by rage due to the disease/ curse of their founding chapter the black range. How ever due to unknown reasons the curse affecting the Brother Guard is only triggered upon the death of an Astarties blood brother. When the rage over takes a battle brother he will be relocated into a squadron of bloody revenge seeking squadron of Reivers (known as blood seekers to BG.) Upon indoctrination into a Blood Seeker squad the crazed warrior will desperately try and redeem himself by killing the one responsible for his blood brother, after this redemption is fore filled he will then stay in the squad until his ultimate end. “For only when my brother’s blood stops pumping will my oath end” last words of the blood binding oath and also motto of the brother guard.
honest opinion and constructive criticism is kindly accepted thank you

Brother Guard? You might want to include Hulk Hogan as your Chapter Master. Also think about a red and yellow paint scheme.

This sounds really cool! I'd give them a arch enemy to their lore to make them more compelling. Something that put the Chapter to the test and made them stronger for it. Could be Necrons or Tyranids, just make it something that cost the Chapter and they are seeking either revenge or redemption.

I was thinking of making a loyalist chapter have a internal conflict with them and I was considering having the dark eldar or works as the chapter arch enemy's. It helps if you choose an enemy you will be facing regularly. Maybe something your friends play. If they have a favorite character in their army make that someone who your Chapter has encountered. Keep working on the lore and slowly you will develop an evolving narrative.

If you want to incorporate Dark Eldar into the storyline, you could have it they regularly raid the home world (perhaps via hidden webway portals in the “underworld” of D-V). Perhaps throw in some legendary tales of (one) of the two brothers being captured by Eldar and being tortured - and the other brother coming to save him only to find that his brother’s heart had been injured/torn out in some way and had to (metaphorically or literally) give his brother a piece of his own heart so the two could survive and escape. It might be that the strike force the brothers organized to beat back the Dark Eldar raiders is what brought the planet to the Imperium’s attention, and the brother’s success was rewarded by using them to found a chapter on the planet.
I’m also curious to learn more about the homeworld itself. You have a surface world that is a death world, yet the inhabitants live in underground cities. Lots of room for development there, and with the Blood Angels (essentially Vampires) as founders, some room for creepy imagery - imagine, for example, if the residents referred to their cities as “Crypts”, and that the sunlight is so harmful that unprotected individuals can be turned to ash - similar in vein (heh) to how a vampire crumbles in sunlight. You could very much build on a “hated sunlight” theme here. Perhaps the natives have some mutation or quirk that makes them unusually susceptible to snlight - possibly from the milleniums of living underground (like the Drow of D&D).
Thought for a dark twist: The planet’s sun has sterilized most of the population, but the imperium has given the chapter access to cloning tech to keep the population numbers up. Whenever a new Blood Brother is recruited into the Brother Guard, a clone is (secretly) made of the individual. The Ritual of Heart’s Blood is actually where one of the marine’s two hearts is removed to perform the cloning process; one of the two hearts grown in the clone is swapped back into the original. The blood brotherhood is, in fact a perpetuated lie - the original is pledging his bond to his own clone, a being who has false memories of a life never actually lived. Which makes you wonder - did the chapter master who was captured by the Dark Eldar really make it back, or is he just a clone of the brother who could not save him - and could not live with the regret of losing his real brother?
