From Spartan Games' now sadly gone Halo range (I was really hoping they'd get around to the 28mm skirmish game that was planned, I'd have thrown money at that). This bust is one of three made for the Covenant side of Halo Fleet Battles, depicting Covenant Supreme Commander Rho 'Barutamee. It's the first bust I've painted and the first non-28mm model I've painted in quite some time, so definitely a new experience and one I enjoyed immensely.

The larger model gives a great canvas for working with texture, something I particularly focused on with the cloak, I think I've captured a very pleasing effect of draped fabric there. The weathered armour might not be something that immediately screams Halo, but this guy is from Reach which was probably the most down-to-earth in terms of its aesthetic so I think it works well enough (and painting clean white is just hard! ). The second bust, of the Imperial Admiral, will likely be a tad cleaner, though I'm still working on the best scheme for him.

Thanks for looking, any thoughts welcome!

That is awesome! I love the Halo games (despite not owning an Xbox for years), I've read a lot of the books, and I've always loved the look of everything in that universe, especially the Covenant stuff. You really did an amazing job on that bust, especially on the cloak! I look forward to seeing more!

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.
