Hey all! I'm scratch-building an counts-as Void Shield Generator for my Orks, and have a question on what would be preferred in this situation: the meat of the structure is a lot smaller than I intended it to be but I still kinda like it. I could put it on a flat 5" square to match the footprint of the GW model, which was the original plan. But now I realize I have a scenic base that is 5" in diameter, round, and I am wondering if it would make much of a difference should I use that instead? I think it would make what I have look a ton better from a modeling stand-point, and be easier to transport for sure (as it is not card-board). But would it throw anything logically, as far as the game is concerned? Would any of you be bothered by your opponents void shield generator using a round footprint?

There are no rules about it. Just clear it up pre game. Worst case scenario you have a 5" square cardboard base to put it on.

Outside of tournaments i dont think anyone would care.

as long as its roughly 5" wide and.. what 10" tall? it should be perfectly functional.

RNAS Rockall

130mm base narrowing to 88~mm for the plate where all the gears are, and 230~mm tall in total. The 'will block line of sight' portion of the base is 65~mm tall.

It's wide enough to give total cover to a chimera facing it, but sidelong there is enough overlap that it could be targeted by something facing it at a right angle.

Happy building

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.
