Personally, I find basilisks underwhelming. You at least need a master of ordinance near them. You might even want to take them as catachan for free rerolls, and put Harker near them for reroll of 1s to hit.

On that same note, you really need to consider taking all of your tanks as catachan for that free re roll on the battle cannons. It makes a HUGE difference. Honestly, Harker would even help the heavy weapons if you positioned everything right. But because you have so many juicy targets, you can bet I'll be in melee with you turn one if I have a non shooty army. Plan on dedicating at least half of your infantry to operation human shield.

Honestly, it looks like you plan on sitting on table side and trying to table your opponent. I tried the same thing with 8 tanks and still lost because in comp games you need board control. Even if your enemy does get killed in large numbers, you won't get everyone by turn 6, and you won't have nearly as many victory points.

With the cadians trait the basalisks will already be reroll in ones for not moving and same usually goes for battle cannons if they do move I usually unveil the relic of cadia to give them reroll ones and then issue the cadia trait order which let's battle cannons reroll their shots so I don't see how Harker would help tbh I have enough bodies to screen the tanks and will keep a bubble of of 4 inches between each rank so tanks should never get In combat and even then I might give up one tank so my opponent can't multi charge with that unit next turn etc. It worked well so far against horde armies by horde were talking cream of the crop horde :p my friend fies thraka and Co with 150 boys :p

You're right. I haven't used many basilisks since 8th, so I wasn't thinking about the Cadian traits. They've been very underwhelming in the games that I've used them.
I'd rather have the S8 -2 2D6 from the battle tanks. S9 -2 D6 isn't breathtaking.
Still, catachan leman russ tanks, especially commanders, are much more effective.

Different strokes for different folks, just my 2 cents. Give them a try and keep the basilisks cadian. You might like it.

Problem is you can only get 2 leman russ with a 4+ bs for the price of the 3 basalisks due to points etc which is nice but they then need line of sight and I would be unable issue tank orders on them the basalisks are there to grt tanks that my opponrnt hides from the battle cannons etc

The basilisk are not very cost effective. Better off going wyvern or manticores.

He was right about the Catachan thing. Re-rolling 1d6 every time you roll dice to determine number of shots is very good for artillery.

You lack lascannons. I’ve never seen a cadian army that didn’t spam those. They bring so much anti-armour imo.

The bullgryns you need to alternate shields. 2 brute, 3 slab. Or 2 slab 3 brute. Why? So you can take the high AP off the invuln and everything else off the 2+.

I would also drop all the sponson weapons on your tanks.

What’s the event called? It’ll be good to know what missions you’ll be playing, itc or etc, as list structure varies depending on the missions.

I’m also voting for leman russ or manticore over basilisk. Manticores are great if there’s gonna be a lot of LOS blocking terrain and they CAN kill pretty much anything.... I’m a huge fan of using heavy weapons teams with lascanons, cadian commander with laurels of command and master of command. Surround with 9x Lascanon teams. Leman russ block vision from potential flanks and the infantry block from the front. Lascanons are oh so sweet.

Persoannly I agree with the basiliks, having ran them in multiple tournies. Also most of you are wrong about the -2 they are -3 which makes a big difference, i.e marines is cover are 5+ not 4+ and the range and not needing LOS is very good! for 108 pts they fill a good role IMO.

Overall I like your list but I do think you would benefit from the psykers, making that key unit fearless or +1 save on the orgyns could be clutch in some cases

I would also question if generally you need that many punisher cannons? against hordes yes but in a event you wont be seeing that many I would consider putting the plasma cannons on one of your tank commanders in place of a punisher cannon.
