Hi people ! So I took off the shelf my OOP DE models and finished painting them and am currently considering starting an army with them. Presently I have two raiders and a ravager (plus two reaver bikers). If I buy the start collecting box, an additional Archon and two units of Kabalite warriors, here's what I could make :

competitive DE from me limited experience of them tend to focus on venoms and msu units; but with that said, this list should do nicely?

Is there any reason why theyre units of 8,7,6 instead of 3x7??

Upgrade one of the Kabalite squads to a 10-man squad, that way you can throw in another Dark Lance, and leave the other two squads at 6 and that puts you at exactly 1000 points.
