I've had great success using Metallic Sharpies to draw lines/provide details on minis. I had thought about adding some neon stripes to a based black figure, but wanted to see if anyone else ahd tried it. Do Neon Sharpies work on acrylic?

Part of me wants to say itll probably look like marker on white paint but then again Ive tried weird crap and it works out sometimes. So Ill just say give it a try and see what happens......maybe test it out on some painted sprue first

I want to try neon or highlighter pens over some randomly colored marines by putting alpha A's all over them

that way when you shine a black light on them it reveals that they are alpha legion in disguise

though that might be cool though never tried it. not sure if the highlighter would show up over like black or blue or some other color or if it would work under varnish.

definitely want to do that for 30k.

Seen lots of people try to get clever with neon paints...and they always look like ass. That makes me imagine a Sharpie attempt would yield similar results.

I think there was a reason why Citadel only ever released two neon colours and then phased them out, though i'm fairly certain it was to do with the time period why they had neon pink and green.

I don't think it was ever used that much...though I could be wrong on that.

Anyway, it depends on what you're doing really, for electronic panels, buttons, display highlighting I can see a use for them, but as a main colour, not really, it'd be too garish but if that's how you wish to do your army then why not!

The only issue I have with sharpies is that I found they rubbed off too easily.

So I gambled and bought some.

They don't stick to Acrylic. At all. Kind of disappointing.

I also tried out the paint sharpies, which are nice but lighter shades than the Gundam PLA makrers I was already using.

That was my reaction too when I tried them out, it's a nice idea and worth trying as you never know, but probably best to just stick to paints, at least with a fine brush you can get into rather inaccessible locations unlike with a sharpie
