Thousand Sons Battalion:
Sorcerer in Terminator armor, familiar, Helm of the third eye [Death Hex, Prescience] WARLORD: High magister
Ahriman on Disc [Glamour of Tzeentch, Weaver of fates, Warptime]
Daemon Prince, wings, talons, Dark Matter Crystal [Gaze of fate, Flickering Flames]
10 x Cultists
10 x Cultists
11 x Cultists
10 x Rubric Marines, Plasma Pistol on Aspiring [Doombolt]
10 x Scarab Occult Terminators, 2 x Hellyfire, 2 x Soulfire Cannons [Tzeentch's Firestorm]
Thousand Sons Spearhead:
Exalted Sorcerer [Temporal Manipulation, Diabolic Strength]
Defiler, Twin Heavy Flamer, Twin Lascannon
Predator, Autocannon, 2 Lascannons
Predator, Autocannon, 2 Lascannons
This list will be paired against Mortarion and his DG. I plan to try and snipe the big guy early, with cabal casting on the termi sorc I should be able to toss out a Death Hex on a 4+. Without his Invul save and with enough votlw plus the lascannons I should be able to either kill him outright or severely cripple him. At least on paper.
The list has 7CP. 1 is spent on the second relic, 1 to deepstrike the Rubrics. Exalted sorcerer babysits the tanks and the defiler. Gives his aura for reroll 1's, heals the wounded tanks with temporal manipulation. If my backline is threatened, he and the defiler can deal with a lot of things in close combat. With Diabolic strength the exalted himself has 5 attacks, str 8 and d3 damage. If cast on the defiler, it has 5 attacks with str 20 (!).
The cultists are used to capture objectives. The rest of the list is basically an alpha strike of dakka paired with a potential first turn charge of the scarabs.
Quick faq:
- Why no soulfire cannon on the rubrics? - Because I do not have the new models.
- Why cultists instead of tzaangor? - Because I do not have the new models.
- Why the spearhead with the predators? - Because oblits and havocs are gone.
- What is your battle strategy? - Nuke Mortarion, buff everything, hope for the best.
