Ok, I have an issue, I recently acquired about 40 marines with a mix of bp/ccw and bp/power fists.  I know that these are not the optimal choices with all the minmax las/plas going on etc...

They are painted as Templars, but to my understanding, the new rules were not nice to the chapter as a whole.I will have no problem repainting and just making a codex chapter if it comes down to it.

Here is my deal, if I make a codex chapter, I can take the vow (don't know the name, I'm at work and away from the codex) that lets me take the troops as bp/ccw.  Now, if I do this, should I either (A) also take the vow that lets me infiltrate at +3 pts a model, or (B) pod maybe even (C) Land Raider Crusader, just because av14 wit tons of shots and ability to charge out of?  Now I know that most people would say pod, but, I was just wondering what the general reasoning could be for either.

Also in this army is a pred for anti tank and a dread (assault cannons are too good to be left out, and a Termie command with 2 more assault cannons 3 assault cannons)

I also will not make another marine army with tons of assault cannons (I already have a marine army with 9 speeders 2 dreads and a squad of termies with 2 assault cannons 13 assault cannons at 1850 cheese to beatup on 2 guys I regularlyplay against <1 uses IW and the other Feral Orks with 2 big squigs etc...&gt

Forgot to mention, the points of the army will scale from 1000 to about 2500 (maybe 3000 depending on how much we want to play a CoD campagin).
The main matter here is, should I stay Templar, or make a codex chapter (which I think would be better so I can use libs, scouts, whirlwinds, etc...) and if I make a codex chapter, should I infiltrate or drop pod?

drop pods do not work well under 1500. At that level or lower you'll do better with a huge horde of guys. buy some scouts and get some 20 man squads and just rush people.

At 1850+ or so I suggest drop pods, bp/ccw and power fists, with a mix of flamers and meltaguns. It is a winning list.

Traits are better for pod armies as you get multiple meltaguns and 3 attack powerfists. At least in my opinion. The strength of templars is huge squads really.

So, in theory, at a low cost battle (keep in mind this is for CoD, so strategy points etc... are being used) as a codex army take infiltrate and the option for multiple meltas and charge...
If templars, take big squads and keep running down the streets... But at greater points pod in... Problem with that is 10 men per pod, that goes against the big squad theory (and I lose the extra melta trait as well as scouts, whirlwinds and librarians)
My only concern, if I do a codex army, the vows to take are limited to two correct, so if I take infiltrate and bp/ccw troops, then I can't take the exra melta...
You see the problem....
Any suggestions?

Pods and cleanse/bp/ccw or templar horde is what I would do.

For Cityfight, pods with flamers/meltas/powerfists would probably do wonderfully.
