I don't know what for the life of me, but I can't seem to get any rattle cans of matte coat to work. I typically dip or gloss coat them then matte finish them. My airbrush matte coat is great. But when I use a rattle can it doesn't remove the gloss at all. The thing is, it used to. I need some help. I have tried krylon, rustoleum. Testers dullcoat, model masters. What am I doing wrong? I warm the cans up, I shake them like hell, then several thin coats, let it dry....but no dice. Is it because it's too col when I do it

Don't do several thin coats then let it dry. You do one thin coat and let it dry. Shine can build with these products. The more layers you apply and the thicker you apply it the shiner it will be. Doing a quick dust coat is a good way to kill shine.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I use Vallejo when lazy or terrain. Works perfectly.

Army painter, if you really, REALLY want it matte. But it tends to leave grainy texture.
