Gauss Blasters are just too neato to pass on. However just get them partly built until the codex rolls around so you don't make a potential mistake. I feel I've been lucky that Blasters have worked since their incarnation (even if the unit itself didn't work until 7th), but you never know what'll happen in the end.
That said, if Custodes do become popular (I haven't looked at tournament results lately) and Overlords cannot cast MWBD on them still...might as well go Blasters.

Note that each Tomb Blade has 2 guns so a unit of 5 has the equivalent firepower of 10 Immortals. Telsa is still a good option for them since CCB's can keep up.
Tomb Blades are not Infantry, so can not benefit in anyway from MWBD.
Gauss, 3+ armor and Ignore cover running in packs of 5 have been the most successful build of Tomb Blades that I have seen. Used to pick off things in cover or press a linebreaker or far off objective.
Getting within Rapid fire range can be risky, but you have Fly keyword to back off and still shoot if they charge you.
The problem I've had with Tomb blades lately is that people are starting to pick them off fast. I usually run them in units of 6 and that's 300 points.
Sure, you can try and hide them, but when there are deep striking plasma, deep striking Dark reapers, Hemlock Wraithfighters etc. they die quickly.
If the rumored 10 point reduction in the codex is true, then I won't care as much because I will have them in units of 9, which will make them much more survivable.

I don't understand what the issue here is.
1. Gauss Blasters in rapid fire are better than Tesla against a potentially popular army, so it'll be good to make note of it.
2. Tesla really mostly stands out when you can cast that ability. If you can't, the Blaster in Rapid Fire range is pretty darn great, and Tomb Blades can definitely make it to that range.

You keep using the word "cast" in regards to MWBD. That might throw new players who are browsing the tactics forums off, suggesting it's something that can be prevented. But yes, TBs can't even benefit from that buff so TBs with Gauss / Immortals with Tesla + MWBD all the way.
Tomb Blades do not have the "Infantry" keyword so cannot be buffed by MWBD. The only thing we can buff is thier RP via Crypteks and Stratagems.
Gauss is usually the best weapon due to TBs having 14" movement letting them get into rapid fire easier then Foot slogging Immortals. Keep the Tesla for the Immortal because they can be buffed with +1 to hit via MWBD.
Also, due to a lot of armies having -1 to hit if more then several inches away or +2 cover save (Rattlings, Rangers) the best gear is usually Shieldvanes and Nebuloscopes.

I really don't think people are going to be confused by my wording of "cast".
