I have 12 Vertus Praetors and am thinking of using an airbrush to apply the base coat. However, I don't own an airbrush, nor do I have any experience using one. Suggestions?
There is honestly a ton of resources for beginning airbrushing for miniatures here and on the rest of the web.
the abridged version
1) get a dual action gravity fed airbrush. its pretty much what everyone suggests. 2) get an airbrush compressor. moisture trap is pretty much mandatory. tank less so but it is important. 3) thin your paints to a milk like consistency. personally i add water first then paint into the cup so i dont have thick paint at the bottom of the cup where my mixing brush doesn't reach.
easy mode badger renegade krome on amazon often like 80$-100$. its a pretty good i still have my first one and its still functional.
Harbor freight garbage airbrush compressor with moisture trap it wont last long. it over heats so its really really really bad for long term or long sessions. but at least it will give you a taste.
if you really dont want to mess with it you could try your luck at one of those masters airbrush kit combos on amazon 120 for an iwata knockoff and a compressor with a tank with prime. the masters clones are hit or miss.
