I am wanting to use the Cherubs for my Devs but I really dislike how Cherubs look. I managed to get one of the Space Hulk CAT models but they aren't easy to come by or are they cheap.

What have other people used? Don't necessarily need 3rd party kit bashes will do!

Thanks!

I'd say a simple ammo servitor would look cool.

I don't use the Cherub. I just grab one of Grimaldus' Servitors and say, "This dude is the armor cherub".

My friend actually gave me a really good idea. Using some of the Epic Rhinos or Landraiders and adding some bits to them.

Paint up some chapter serfs hauling ammo?

If you can grab the pilot from the old 4th ed Battle of Macragge box, he’d do nicely,

My understanding is that fluff-wise they're effectively small flying servitors who dispense/reload ammo and do other useful stuff, but their physical appearance/size doesn't affect game play at all.

The two obvious options are:
- mechanic - some sort of mini-robot or mini-vehicle. As well as above suggestions (Epic-scale rhinos would certainly be an easy option for the bases, as FinkleLord says), how about: a floating disc; or just a mobile ammo box (floating, wheeled, tracked, or walking)?
- or biological - standard servitor or serf as suggested above, or: a squat/halfling or other abhuman (unless your chapter is especially purist, of course); or a penal conscript in chains?

In 8th they actually have a statline and take up space if I remember correctly.

Main thing for me is they have to fit thematically for my army, which is essentially Iron Hands.

Than I would go for a Servo Skull if your Iron Hands. Matches their fluff pretty well since the flesh is weak.

I made a Servitor for my Devastators personally, as I see the Cherubs as abominations and the Minotaurs as pragmatic. This first one needs some adjustments (mostly with the chains), but I'll see how my second one goes once I find a suitable body to use.

For this one I used a robe from the Empire Celestial Hurricanum and then mostly just Skitarii bits, one arm carrying a ammo box for the Heavy Bolters, the other a arm that (in my mind) is basically a charge for a Plasma Cannon. Might need to modify the ends of the cables though.

Yes, the standard models have their own bases, so you should do the same, to avoid in-game arguments and confusion.

Mechanical definitely sounds the way to go to fit into an Iron Hands army, although that could include cyborg servitors (all with mechanical left hands, of course! ) Hmm, Skitarii Vanguard could make a good conversion base, with different heads and weapons replaced/removed - they certainly look appropriately mechanical.

Or two servo skulls carrying an ammo crate between them.

Is that a Lego chain I see there? If yes, brilliant idea!

Naw, it's an actual steel(or some metal) chain I bought from somewhere... Anvil maybe? I don't remember. A lego chain would probably have been easier to use xD
