A slightly raven guard-esque imperial fists list focusing around inceptors and annihilators. Was tossing between the two chapters a bit but feel fists will work better, aiding the inceptors to get through armour in cover and giving access to the fists strategem. The protection RGs trait grants is easily circumvented due to inceptors range. And if I wanted defensive, iron hands would probably be more suitable.

2k 5CP
Battalion 340pts
Chapter Master, jump pack, stormbolter, armour Indomitus, storm of fire
Lieutenant, jump pack, stormbolter
3*5 scouts, bolters

Outrider 800
Lieutenant, jump pack, stormbolter
2*6 Inceptors, assault bolters
4 Inceptors l, assault bolters

Spearhead 860
Techmarine, bike, servo arm, Chainsword
3 Predators, quad-las, hunter killers
Predator, quad-las

General idea is to have two groups on the table, 1 of Inceptors and 1 of predators. Each has a jump Lt attached. Depending on which way the opponents army swings, the chapter master drops with the relevant group. If the opponents army is relatively balanced, then probably will stick him with the Inceptors. CP to mainly be spent on killshot and bolter drill.

Greatest issue I can see are deep strike assaulters. Will try and push them out in deployment with the scouts but after that it's cat and mouse with the Inceptors I feel. Originally I had some THs on the characters and one naked vanguard vets squad for a bit of melee stalling (pulling the outrider detachment into the battalion as well). But I didn't think it contributed much to the fight and in a serious combat would still get walked over anyway. If I can get a Inceptors squad down before deepstrikers, auspex scan should pose a credible threat to them. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined
