I have been painting a lot of white atm (not full white so cant base spray it, but pieces). I have been using/trying GW Ceramite white and White Scar (Is what have used in the past and now) I find it absolute gak (even using 2 thin coats with lahmian medium or solid etc and /or a grey base coat etc). It never goes on smooth, looks like crap. Anyone found a good white that goes on smooth etc with a brush.Only colour I have found crap to brush paint with gw paints (and is really bad). Easily available paint please

Cheers
SC

Secret to white is patience and lots of thin layers having started with a light grey base. In terms of actual product, the best* whites I've used are Vallejo Model Colour White and Reaper Master Series Pure White.

* by which I mean the way they behave with a brush - thin easily and stay thinned for a while even when just using water; don't chalk up or generate particulate unless you're going out of your way to make it happen.

Best white for me is to not start with white but with valljeo model color deck tan.

then mix that with white per each layer till you reach your target whiteness.

Vallejo foundation white at 40% water, and then either Air or Model Dead White. For the model, I've found that one coat over the white primer works perfectly unless you're working on a really curved surface.

I've also found Off White works pretty well too.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.
