So it looks like they twist at the waist now, have a cool shoulder pad and something is different about the head neck area.
Am i just out of the loop or are they new?
Saw them in March white dwarf.

They got a new kit with the last tau codex mate. Quite a while ago. Its a lovelt kit except they made the jetpack thrusters posable and attached by this tiny peg thats snaps really easily. Other than that its a great kit

Yeah, so much more poseability. A much better kit than the old one.

They were updated in late 2015 with the 7th edition Tau codex release. Sadly they didn't get the radical redesign that everyone was hoping for, just a little refresh of the original boxy-looking chicken-legged suit, but the kit itself is massively improved. Personally I wouldn't have minded something more resembling some of Roberto Cirillo's concept artwork from years and years ago, but I wasn't really expecting GW to do that anyway.
The only thing I hate, which applies to the commander kit too, is that the jet packs join right down the middle, which leaves seams in the vents that are near impossible to fix. Or at least I don't have the patience to bother with it, anyway.

Here's to hoping for new Hammerhead stuff. I for one would keep the devilfish exactly the same, but the MBT and missile carrier version could use something. Or a not crap looking and crazy designed flyer. Hell I'd take piranha that had a cover on them.

The new suits look a bit better, but I'm not overly fond of the price.
I found these, and though they are even MORE expensive, I do like their looks better.
(They're by Wargames Exclusive)

New kits for Fire Warriors and XV8s came out when their 7th edition codex came out along with the Ghostkeel and the abaddon inspired Stormsurge. The new XV8s are a definite improvement when it comes to posing them as well as sculpt detail quality. Whats even better is that they give you the parts to make a Crisis Suit that looks like it has Iridium armor which is great for a Commander suit without having to buy the commander box.
The new Crisis kit price would be an issue (along with the new Firewarrior kit price) except the Start Collecting box for Tau has both plus an ethereal for $10 (US) more than the Crisis kit by itself. As long as you are looking to add both to your collection then its a great value.
