I'm in the planning stage of a new Mordheim warband, this time Bretonnians, but finding suitable models is proving an issue. There are a lot of historical models out there that are really nice, but none of them come even close to GW's human scale(ie 5-6 heads, approx 30mm-to-the-eye). Looking around the usual suspects, all I can find that even comes close are either the Gamezone line(which is set up for army-size projects and would leave me with tons of useless extras) or the...lets be charitable and say "basic" Basilean models from Mantic, and a handful of foot-knights from Reaper.
I've been considering pushing myself out of my normal comfort zone to sculpt the models completely from scratch, but even if I did that there's one thing I'm nowhere near ready to attempt yet - the horses. Now, I can't tell if it's just the caparison tricking my eye, but the Bretonnian horses look proportionally larger relative to their riders than the two available alternatives from GW(Marauder Horsemen and whatever they're calling Pistoliers now) - are there any other sources of large warhorse-style models(I can sculpt the caparison myself if needs be) in the right scale? They don't have to be plastic.
