Sword-Wielding Bloodletter of Khorne

Warp Storm over Illinois

I'm looking to add an Exalted Champion to my World Eaters but were curious what model people used as a base. I've look around online and a good chunk look to use the Aspiring Champion model that came out that matches the DV set. I'd rather not use that model because I think it wouldn't mesh well with my Berzerkers (Blood Warriors). I wanted something that would stand out but not me over the top like a big HQ. Curious what other people have made for a champion.

I used a spare Khorne Bezerker body and legs with some other Chaos bits. It's nothing fancy, but he stands out enough against the other HQs I use without looking too much like a rank and file trooper.

I think it depends on the spares you have available, but I also used a spare Berzerker for mine.

I used the legs, body and head from the Berzerker kit, but one of the bigger fancier power plants from from the Possessed set.

I then used the chainsword arms from the Raptor kit as they are a better mould and look more dynamic.

It has made a dynamic looking model charging forward who can throw out nearly as many attacks as a full squad of pitiful loyalist Marines

When you say your "Berserkers (Blood Warriors)", do you mean you've converted them out of the AOS kits? If so, maybe one of the Deathbringers or Slaughterpriests would be a good base model to start with? Even with normal Zerkers those would be good models to base Khorne characters off for 40k.

But if you haven't used Blood Warriors as your normal Zerkers, those might be a good option! Similar enough in style, but a little more savage looking. The Easy To Build ones could be a cheap starting point, with an arm swap and a marine backpack to tie into your squad. I've seen some lovely conversions of the AOS Khorne models to 40k.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

The wrathmonger kit bodies are great bases for slightly larger champion and lord models. If you play Khorne and haven't bought a wrathmonger kit, you're missing out! So many weapons, heads, icons, etc. to use for conversions.
