What are some competitve elite army builds? I really woiuld like a small model count army that I can fit in a backpack and hop on my motorcycle . I love 40k but my lgs is 1.5 hours away. So I want to kill two hobby birds with one stone but I would also like to not loose every single time I play. I love my orks but there are way too many to be transporting this way !

Can't help on the army side of things, but a few years back I picked up a GW backpack that has space for two small army cases and a couple books/dice. Maybe have a look for something like that online to help transport what you have?

40k: Space Marines (Rift Wardens) - 8050pts.
T9A: Vampire Covenants 2060pts.

I’ve seen a guy with a Custodes force in a backpack.

He uses this a feldherr case. He has the PDF’s on a tablet. His backpack has a built in power supply.
He has a foldable travel tray he said he got off amazon. Dice and cards in the pack.
He doesn’t have a motocycle, but is dependent on public transportation.

Daemons.

A friend of mine fits several Daemon Princes, a Bloodthirster, a Greater Daemon and a couple squads of Plaguebearers in a backpack. 2k points and low model count.

I have a 1k points Ork army, six Deff Dreads with KMB, three Lobbas, Mega Mek with KMB, Big Mek with SAG and ten Grots. Fits into a back pack easily.

Check out Custodes. You will have a low model count, and those models will be the most elite models in all of 40kdom.

It depends on how precious you are with your Boyz. I have painted all mine, and I keep my Boyz in freezer zip lock bags of 30. I can easily fit 120 Boyz in my backpack this way, and have a small foam tray for my characters and mek gunz. All my books are on a tablet, and I just use 25 dice.

I am the opposite!

I have a pack-air battlefoam /w a separate shoulder bag for my codex, dice, tape measure, rule book, etc.

So my arms and shoulders are full heading into the shop.

But i have car so this is acceptable.

Maybe some vespids

anything Infantry, or anything with big blocky vehicles would be easiest. I have to commute with my Army, so I know the struggles of squeezing enough into my Sabol bag for trips.

Depending on how particular you are with your models, I find certain plastic Tupperware containers and bubble wrap to help. I also use a foam Lunchbox/cooler for more stuff.

I might even suggest an Imperial Knight as its a pretty big kit that eats up alot of points, but can be magnetized and disassembled for travel.

How well does that fit into a backpack?

How competitive?

semi casual just messing around or balls to the walls tourny level?

Battle foam makes a back pack based case or alternatively any sort of foam bag could be strapped down. though as its a bag its not going to protect anything in (gods forbid) an accident.

there is also the hard cases which are basically knock off pelicans that would probably keep things a little safer in case of a spill.

Top 20 LVO list. Easy to transport. However, like most competitive stuff, not necessarily an ingredient for fun games.

I would say semi casual. I have checked out the battle foam back pack! Thank you for that suggestion. Hopefully there will not be any spills but you are right it is something to consider.

This is the correct answer.

mmmmmm semi competitive low model count army great for transport... Custodes are probably pretty good for that though i havent seen enough of them played to make any sort of judgement on how well they play.

Primarus marines are pretty good. can be gotten cheap from dark imperium and pushfits.
Nurgle too.
