I had a thread a while ago about what to do with a large amount of GW gift vouchers.

They needed to be used by this month. After some wheeling and dealing, I've acquired the following stuff:

- Eldar
- SoB
- Inquisition
- Grey Knights
- Deathwatch
- A metric ton of bits

The Eldar and SoB armies are complete and almost play themselves. I put them away in cases. Mostly concerned with the others.

I play Chaos and don't really have the first clue about what to do with all these forces. It's clear these armies were optimized for previous editions and would need some TLC for 8th. I imagine they work together as part of some soup list, but I'm struggling on where to start.

Going to describe what I have received and would love some feedback. Most of the models are metal / OOP, and I'm not sure I would want to do extensive conversions. Will happily buy more models to create a complete force, within reason.

Inquisition

- All of the HQ models currently listed on GW's website (incl Throne of Judgement)
- 30 Guardsmen
- 30 Henchmen? They have a lot of names on the GW store but no index entries.
- All of the Imperial assassins, several of each
- Celestine - but not the attendants, original sculpt
- 5 Penitent Engines (I know they are really SoB but I keep being told it's Inquisition)

Grey Knights

- All HQ options currently on the GW website
- 50 Terminators / Paladins, mostly with Halberds
- 9 Dreadnoughts
- 9 Land Raiders (multiple variants) with Forgeworld doors
- A Razorback
- A Predator

Deathwatch

- 60 tacticals, metal shoulder pads from various legions
-- ~ 20 painted
-- ~ 20 posed / positioned, but with no heads and no weapons
-- ~ 20 posed with no shoulder pads, no heads, no weapons

- Sprues and parts enough for 60 more

- 20 DW Bikes

- 10 DW Terminators

NOTE ON GREY KNIGHTS: This army was originally used for Apocalypse games. I was told the name of the formations, but no longer remember. There's several variants of Land Raiders, with lascannons / heavy bolter / heavy flamer sponsons.

NOTE ON DEATHWATCH: The original owner came to a dead stop on them once 8th edition came out. Chose not to continue after reading the Index. I've read the d4chan description on the army, still not sure what to do with them.

All feedback is appreciated!

your mind

Wow.
That is a LOT of models.
I thought that I had too many projects.

Right now, inquisition is stuck with the index, and is pretty meh.
Read that, play with what you have until you figure out something interesting, try it, Wait for the codex,

I think I made the most out of the situation.

The Index left me mostly with questions after I compared with with the Daemonhunters Codex (from an earlier edition.)

1) I have models for Warriors, Sages, Mystics, Heirophants, Cherubs and Acolytes. Are all henchman now Acolytes from the Index? Am I missing something?

2) There are no infantry listed in the Inquisition section. How do I fill out Troops slots in a detachment? Does this mean I have to take a soup list to stay battle forged?

3) Authority of the Inquisition allows Inquisition units to board any Imperial transports. What does this mean for list building? Am I able to take Rhinos in an Inquisition detachment and remain battle forged?

4) What is the deal with Penitent Engines? They are not listed as part of Inquisition armies. Do they need to be part of a separate detachment?

Grey Knights, inquisition and deathwatch are some of the worst armies right now. The best you can really do is rely on guard to units to carry your overpriced underperforming flavor guys.

Yeah, they are all rough right now. That's part of why I was able to get so many of them.

Hoping each will improve over time. Question is what can really be done with each at the moment?
