I want to use tankbustas, but I hate the metal models GW has.

How far away are the 'eavy weapon rocket launcha ork boyz from looking like tankbustas? I don't want the fluff, like rocket pistols or tank hammers, I just want a dozen tankbustas with normal rocket launchas in a battlewagon.

I'm basically wondering if I can make a tankbusta squad from all the spare rocket launchas I saved over the years. I don't know how different they are from the Tankbusta version of the rocket launcha.

I think a full squad with rokkit launchers would look like nothing else. Has to be tank busters. Do it. The official models just have the odd tank busting mine on them too. I think there's one on the boyz sprue.

Yeah, the boyz boxes I got came with a rocket launcha and a tank busting mine each. I got enough rockets to make 8 tankbsutas just with the rocket launchas.

Agreed, so long as the whole squad is armed with some sort of rocket launchers (even repaired/stolen/modified missile launchers etc from other races), it's pretty obvious they're a tankbusta squad, so I can't see any confusion or complaints from opponents.

That's essentially what I did for my tankbustas. I did add on a few extra bits and bobs, to give them the whole, rokkit-y look thing. But essentially they're just boyz with rokkits.
