If I create army of all chaos marine units but add in a unit or two of daemons to be summoned in battle, does that break the battleforged status?

You do not add daemons you intend to summon to your list.

You set aside reinforcement points. These are used during the game to make new units.

Your list will be battleforged (as it is made of detachments all with the chaos keyword).

You will also not lose any faction benefits for mixed detachments, because your summoned daemons are not in a detachment.

You don't add in units of deamons to be summoned. You leave points unspent which you can then spend in game as reinforcement points. Summoned units are not a part of any detachment and your army is still battleforged.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
