Today I'm going to assemble a CSM Land Raider that I've had laying around for years. I was getting my magnets and pin vice ready when I realized there aren't any options for the twin lascannon sponsons or the twin heavy bolter in the codex. I'm thinking that I don't need to mess with magnetization at all. I suppose there could be changes in the future that would allow for different sponson weapons.

Have there been different weapon options for the CSM Land Raider in the past, or has it always been two twin lascannons and a twin heavy bolter? If there have always been no options for weapons then I'll feel safe not magnetizing.

Yep, the classic land raider weapons are all chaos get.

Consider, though, they do get access to several of the Forge World versions of Land Raiders - so take a glance at them first. I think most are bizarre versions, like the huge siege cannon one, so you wouldn't have to worry about it.

PS: I would suggest magnets, solely because re-sale value will be higher, and honestly...it's super duper crazy simple to magnetize LR doors.

Also if the fancy takes you, you can "build your own" Land Raider as per Chapter Approved. Good luck finding an opponent for that though.

40k Armies
Imperium - (8,000 points Adeptus Astartes (Imperial Fists) / 2,500 points Primaris Astartes (Blood Angels) / 3,000 points Astra Militarum (Inquisition pretending to be Cadian... >.> ) / 2,000 points Deathwatch/Assassins (More Inquisition soup))
Forces of Chaos - (8,000 points Heretic Astartes (World Eaters/Renegade Chapters) / 2,000 points Chaos Deamons (Khorne Dedication) / 2,500 points Death Guard)
Xenos Hordes - (7,000 points Orks (Speed Freaks/Bad Moons) / 3,000 points Aeldari (Saim-Hann))

If you're gaming with people who'd throw a fit over a Chapter Approved created tank, you're probably playing with the wrong people in the first place.

Agreed. But sometimes you don't know what a player is like till you have that awkward moment/argument.

Only needs to be one game to realise you don't want to play them, but it still happens from time to time :(
