Saw this in the Custodes book and hadn't heard of it at all. It's on the map of sol system. Found this on lexicanium

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Artefact_9-Kappa-Mu

Was wondering if anyone knows any,ore or has any theories on what it's all about? Is it based on some other sci fi stuff I'm not familiar with. Searched dakka and found nothing either. Don't know why but I'm intrigued.

this is interesting, maybe it's made out of Blackstone and is a Necron something? I agree, I'm totally interested now.

This is fascinating - I hadn't heard of it before.

Kinda sounds like a homage to the Black Knighht satelllite conspiracy theory?

Hmm says it "could" predate the dark age of tech, assuming the imperium hasn't lost the ability to carbon date things I doubt it's necron, which leaves me to wonder what it could be?

Well it's obviously a void ship full of Daleks...

In all seriousness we're not supposed to know. It's a plot hook. It's what Tuomas Pirinen recently called on an ama on Reddit "closed doors". They leave these thing here to be pontentially be explored later and open up future expansions to the setting.

By the sound of it, it's a plot device so John French could sneak some Alpha Legion into the Solar System. Whether anything more comes of it depends on whether any other writers like the idea.

A 30km black disc invisible to sensors full of tunnels and stuff. Orbits between Venus and Mercury. I get that we aren't supposed to know about it but it's a very random "closed door". I wondered if it had any real world conspiracy back ground. Will look into these black knight satellites. Anyone read the book it appears in and know how?
