I'm looking to update my GitS-inspired Tau to the new book and I would appreciate feedback on what I currently have. To preface, I'm not certain about the XV8 team and I am contemplating another Stealth Suit squad (with 2x Marker Drones) and another Hammerhead to replace them.
Total – 9 CP, 10 Markerlights, 7 T'au Sept Drones, 19 Vior’la Sept Drones
T'au Sept Battalion Detachment (2 HQ, 3 Troops) – 3 CP

Shadowsun can't take a signature aystem as she is a named charictor.
Also your running by my count 3 markerlights on BS4 and 7 on BS 5. I realise you have drone controllers but they have limited range and remember drones are targetable units in 8th.

Good call! For some reason them not being called "Relics" caused that limitation to slip my mind. I suppose I would shift that on to one of the XV8 commanders if not the Fusion Ghostkeel.
As for markerlights, I have found that suit-Tau in 8th edition needs to use their mobility to concentrate firepower into a few units so having sprinkled markerlights has gotten the job done; I'm not looking to get markerlights on half of an opposing army. As for reaching 5 markerlights, I plan to make use of the 1 CP stratagem to make that more reliable when it is needed. I have only increased the amount of Marker Drones since the Index due to them now being tied with Shield Drones as the cheapest source for ablative wounds through Saviour Protocols.

Ghost keel isn't a charictor and as such can't have a signature system unfortunately.
Also might be worth thinking about xv85 over XV8 for the additional wound

Curses, foiled again! On to the Warlord it goes then.
I have 5 XV8 models that I am determined to find a use for, hence the team and two XV8 Commanders. I fear that I may cave and spend the 4 points (and bunch of cash) to switch them to XV85s for that extra wound though.

Unless you don't have the option - It's going to be a better choice to take smart missles over burst cannons - they went down 10 points.

Looks ok, I don't see all that much reason for shadowsun other than having the model (something I'm sad to regret purchasing). If you're going to deploy all of your infiltrators together you might want to switch from vior'a to T'au, if they're apart then ok. I'm curious about taking target lock instead of ATS on the ion/burst ghostkeel, I would suspect he isn't meant to move considering shodowsun.
As far as hammerhead secondary weapons go BC is fine to save 14pts over SMS. I try to get the missiles when I can though. Finally for the commanders I'd opt out of ATS for a 4th weapon just in case you're fighting custodes or daemons.

Shadowsun give an additional "Kayuon".
Have codex. Once per game a character is allows to call kayon or mont'ka. Kayon lets all units within 6" of said commander reroll all hits, if they do not move that turn. ShadowSun allows you to do it a second time. So her parked near a stormsurge, broadsides, and plethora of fire warriors is a huge booster.
