So when do we all think it's going to drop?

Personally I though they would have dropped it today after AdeptiCon.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if:

A) They forgot about it.
B) They drop it on the 31st.
C) They push it back a few weeks / months after reviewing the recent tournament data.

I suspect it will drop sometime in March.

Since there's still ~20% of the month to go.

Sometime this week. Probably before April 1st.

I'm betting the 31st. That's 2 weeks after the tau release which is when the FAQ for that codex is supposed to drop

If the T'au Empire FAQ follows the current trend, it won't drop until Tuesday, April 3rd.

So they're just delaying the FAQ to delete Flyrants from game because Adepticon was won by Flyrant Spam? Ludicrous...

Yes how ludicrous that they're taking feedback and incorporating it into the FAQ.

Absolutely unacceptable. After all, if it's not a knee-jerk reaction, it's not a proper reaction!

They had better nerf the other multiple Chaos/Eldar/Imperium builds in that case

If they target flyrants because of Adepticon I have to ask WTF. If in general there is a balance change for other reasons, sure, but outside of Adepticon, i don't see anyone actually playing that format on a regular basis. Its heavy emphasis on kill points is just not what 8th edition is all about. With such a heavy emphasis on slaughter the best army to take to Adepticon would have been custodes.

Wait you meant tournaments and tournament rulesets are using houserules to play their game?

Yes because we all know those builds are just as abusive as 7 Flying Hive Tyrants.

Adepticon isn’t even the only GT where Flyrants facerolled the win. Caledonian Uprising was also won by them (2 in top3) just before LVO. Americans are just slow to react and start using power builds.

No - ITC doesn't favor flyrants as heavily because of the change in secondary points generation.

So what you’re saying GW shouldn’t patch an obviously broken build because one group in the world houseruled the missions?

Or you’re saying people didn’t use Flyrant spam, Poxhorde and Dark Talon spam in the US because of the ITC (instead of just being behind the curve)?

My point? Flyrant spam being on the radar NOW when it’s nearly April is hilarious.

I think he said GW shouldn't take houserules into account. Because why not taking my houserules into account then ?

No what I'm saying is the reason Flyrant spam didn't make a splash in the US was because the last major before Adepticon didn't have a ruleset that was as beneficial as Adepticon's. It is fairly well known that the best lists in a given event are going to be tailored to maximize their impact in that rule set. The rest of what you've read in my post is conjecture and assumption on your part. I'm an advocate of limiting Hive Tyrant spam (same as demon princes among others). This isn't a pissing contest between the skill set of the US and UK player base - I dealt with enough of that in WHFB and have no interest in it. I simply wanted to correct you on your understanding of why Flyrants didn't show up until Adepticon.

There's a big difference between a widely played format versus a once per year format...

Almost as big as the difference between a widely played format and the actual rules.

I would say "the actual missions," i don't know if you should conflate rules and missions.

Theres no question that Oblits are amazing, but the FAQ is almost guarenteed to not have major point changes. So theyre probably safe..until 2018 CA ;D

It's been on the radar the whole time. Just look at the tyranid tactics thread at codex release. Everyone knew it was the best unit in the codex and that MRC are an auto include because they are suprisingly free. Everyone knew then that spamming them would produce good results.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.
