Total 2000pts - 12CP - 20 deployment

Commander is only there to buff stuff and be tough. His Warlord Trait will turn and the C&C node stratagem should help to turn the Riptide into a true beast of carnage.
Idea would be to keep the drones close enough to the comander to get his drone controler buff and close enough to the riptide that they can use their savior protocol to help the Riptide avoid any big blasts comming its way.

Lots of Markerlights and lots of shooting, if anybody gets close enough to charge the sept trait and faction rule will allow the opponent to be punished for trying.

Idea was to fill the board with a bit too many big guys for the opponent to know what to prioritize (Stormsurge!!!, Riptide, 3 Hammerhead and Longstrike)
All the while still having enough troops to be able to contest objectives if I need to.

Adjusted the list. put Ion Cannon on Tanks, saved me 12pts, removed 6 Drones to give me the points I needed to give the commander some shooting (ATS + 2 MP).

I suppose I could go with 5xBroadsides instead of Longstrike and Hammerhead which might be as good but I figured the hammerhead not having any invul or savior protocol the opponent might prioritize them leaving my Stormsurge more time to do his damage before taking damage (hopefully allowing me to anchor in before shooting my destroyer missiles while still being at full Bs).

Longstikes rule realy do favour him having a railgun over the ion, but being supported by ionheads
Also I prefer to put the puretide chip on a fireblade as most people won't bother with him as a target. And getting into CC with a fireblade surrounded by tau firewarriors

Why is a Railgun better for Longstrike? It's not like he has an ability that only works on a single shot right? Am I missing something?

He gets to add plus one to wounds against vehicals and monstors, hence the railguns mortal wounds trip on a roll of 5, 1 in 3 chance of d6 mortal wounds isn't a joke.
He gives all hammer heads around him +1 to hit. So the lowest they can roll is modified to a 2 so no overheating without a negative modifier, so ion is better for them.
